One of 21 1,000-point scorers in Aztec Women’s Basketball history, Paris Johnson is in her second year in 2017-18 as the director of player personnel at San Diego State.
In her role, Johnson coordinates film exchange, edits game and practice film and develops team highlight videos. She also serves as the team’s assistant recruiting coordinator, handles all of the team’s social media and oversees the Aztecs’ student managers. Additionally, Johnson lends support to director of basketball operations Jon Silver in the planning and preparation of all women’s basketball events.
Prior to joining the San Diego State coaching staff, Johnson served as the camp director at Skyhawks Sports Academy’s San Diego camp from May-August 2015, supervising coaching staffs and coordinating daily lessons.
Johnson, an Aztec letterwinner from 2008-11, scored 1,598 points over her four-year career. San Diego State’s career (267) and single season (94, 2009) blocks record holder, she garnered all-Mountain West honors each season she donned the Scarlet and Black. She also helped San Diego State to its first Mountain West tournament championship in 2010, a team that advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16.
After graduating with her bachelor’s degree in social science, Johnson, a San Diego native, played overseas in Poland (Gorzow, 2011-12; Gdynia, 2015-16), Spain (Zamora, 2012-13), Australia (Brisbane and Sydney, 2014-15), the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.
