Yasser Aguila Todd begins his second season with the Aztec volleyball staff, assuming the title of volunteer assistant coach.

In his first year at San Diego State, Aguila Todd served as the program's technical coordinator, assisting the staff with video and statistical analysis, scouting reports, gameday worksheet design, along multiple tasks in support of the head coach. 

A co-founder of Spartan Volleyball Academy in Wildomar, California, Aguila Todd has also worked as a volunteer assistant coach at Palomar College and the University of Saint Katherine in San Marcos, California.

In addition, Aguila Todd spent time as a volunteer assistant at Santa Rosa Academy in Menifee, California, serving as varsity head coach for the boys' volleyball team and assistant coach with the varsity girls' squad. He also coached seven teams over a four-year span within the Viper Volleyball Club in Temecula.

Aguila Todd holds two degrees in business administration from Trident University in Cypress, California, receiving his bachelor’s degree in 2009 before earning a master’s in 2014. He additionally obtained a Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt from Villanova University. 

Aguila Todd is currently pursuing a doctorate in education and sport management from Northcentral University in San Diego.

Previously, Aguila Todd served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2001-12, serving as an infantryman/light armored reconnaissance scout until 2005. He later transitioned into logistics, supply chain management and Global Combat Support System (GCSS) functions.

Aguila Todd resides in Temecula with his wife Jocelyn, and children Marizza (18), Sofia (10), and Giovanni (6).
