Sat out as a redshirt during her first year of collegiate volleyball at San Diego State.
 
HIGH SCHOOL
Won a pair of varsity letters at Bellaire (Texas) High School, where she was coached by Gloria Clarke … Was ranked 25th nationally on PrepVolleyball.com’s list of Senior Aces … Served one season as team captain … First-team all-district selection as a junior and senior … An all-region selection in 2008 … Helped her squad to a District 20-5A championship … Also competed for the basketball and track teams.
 
CLUB
Played two years for Club Kaboom in Houston as a middle blocker … Earned most improved player award.
 
PERSONAL
Born in Houston, Texas … Daughter of Clifton and Monica Lattin (currently Monica Powell with stepfather Felix Powell) … Her mother, Monica (Lamb) was a standout basketball player at USC and played for the Houston Comets of the WNBA … Her grandfather, David Lattin, played on the 1966 Texas Western (now UTEP) basketball team that won the NCAA championships … He played in the NBA for the San Francisco Warriors and Phoenix Suns as well as three years in the American Basketball Association (ABA) … Enjoys music including singing in choir as well as playing guitar, saxophone and drums … Was recruited by national powers Cal, USC, UCLA and Florida …Vertical jump has been measured at 10-6 … Majoring in sports medicine at SDSU.
