Indoor: Did not compete.
Outdoor: Competed in six meets during her final outdoor season, running the 800m each time … Ran a season best 2:11.42 for a 13th place finish at the MW Championships … Also ran a 2:11.66 at the Bryan Clay Invitational … Best finish was a ninth place at the Stanford Invitational with a time of 2:16.32.
2022-23 Season
Cross Country: Ran a 22:41.8 in the NCAA West Regional Championships, scoring points for the Aztecs … Counting the regional, competed in five meets throughout the season … Set all her collegiate bests; 14:50.6 (4k), 17:43.3 (5k), and 21:29.1 (6k) … Finished 18th at the Anteater Opener and 21st at the Joe Piane Invitational.
Indoor: Did not compete.
Outdoor: Competed in just two meets … Won the 800m with a time of 2:12.86 at the Ben Brown Invite … Finished fifth with a 4:36.67 in the 1500m at the Aztec Invitational.
2021-22 Season
Cross Country: Ran a 23:23.3 6k in the Mountain West Championships… Participated in four 6k races including the Stump Invitational, where she posted a collegiate career best (21:32.8)… Competed in a 4k at the Anteater Opener (14:55.9)… Finished in the top five among Aztecs at the Anteater Opener and Stump Invitational.
Indoor: Brought home a gold medal at the Mountain West Indoor Championships with a time of 2:07.31 in the 800 meters... Also competed in the Don Kirby Elite Invitational in the 800m run, where she set a personal and school record with a time of 2:08.24.
Outdoor: Placed 46th in the NCAA West Preliminary Round in the 800m run with a time of 2:17.52... Finished third in the Mountain West Outdoor Championships in the 800 meters with a time of 2:06.40, a personal record... Competed in six meets... Finished fifth in the Desert Heat Classic for the 800m run with a time of 2:08.83... Fourth in the Aztec Invitational for the 1,500 meters with a personal record of 4:28.17... Ran her first career 3,000m steeplechase in the Astro Al Distance Classic and won the event with a time of 11:33.73.
2020-21 Season
Cross Country: Competed in both of the Aztecs' 6k races, finishing in 22:46.6 at the Silver State Collegiate Challenge (27th) and in 23:15.2 at the Mountain West Championships (72nd).
Indoor: Season cancelled due to COVID.
Outdoor: Finished sixth in the 800m at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships with a personal best time of 2:08.86, an 11 second improvement from her first race of the season… Finished eighth in the MW prelims with a time of 2:09.65… Finished first at the UCR Distance Invitational (2:13.42)… Also ran the 1,500m at two meets, running a PR of 4:36.64 at the Utah Dual Meet and taking third.
2019-20 Season:
Cross Country: Competed in six events for the Aztecs…Finished top five for the Aztecs in four of her six races…Placed third among the Aztecs in the Mark Covert Classic 5k (19:34.2) and the UC Riverside Invitational 6k (22:27.3), both of which were collegiate career bests for Harper…Competed in her first Mountain West Championship event with a time of 24:04.26.
Indoor: Competed in three meets… Part of record-breaking distance medley relay team (11:53.85) at the MW Indoor Championships (2-27-20)… Took 16th in the 800m at the MW Indoor Championships… Also competed in the mile, finishing in 5:23.12 at the Don Kirby Elite Invite (Feb. 14, 2020).
Outdoor: Season was canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic.
High School
Attended Trinity High School in Weaverville, Calif… Was a four-time all-league selection in cross country and earned the honor three times in track… Set seven school records… Took first place in the 400m in the Northern Section Finals as a sophomore… As a junior, won the Northern Section Finals in the 800m and 1600m… Finished 11th in the 800m in the CIF State Finals as a junior and improved to finish in sixth as a senior… Earned team MVP honors three times in track and twice in cross country… Best times in high school: 400m (57.35), 800m (2:10.98), 1,600m (5:07.09), and 3,200m (11:37.21)… Was her high school’s Valedictorian… Served as a FFA officer for three years.
Personal
Born in Weaverville, Calif. to Joanne and Mike Harper… Both her parents ran track and cross country at Cal… Has two older brothers who are collegiate track athletes: Ben (Cal) and Brian (Butte College)… Enjoys horseback riding and playing music… Can play the piano, ukulele, trumpet and fiddle… Lists American middle distance runner Colleen Quigley as her favorite athlete… Plans to major in biology with an emphasis in zoology… Hopes to have a career in wildlife conservation.
