2019-20:
Indoor: Won the pentathlon at the Mountain West Indoor Championships with 4,075 points, the second most in school history… Qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the pentathlon but the meet was canceled due to COVID-19… Tied or set new PRs in all five pentathlon events at the MW Indoor Championships: long jump (19-04.00), shot put (42-03.25), high jump (5-07.00), 60m hurdles (8.58) and 800m run (2:30.59)… Her season best high jump of 5-07.00 tied for third best in school history… Season best long jump of 19-04.00 is the tenth best in SDSU’s indoor history… Won the pentathlon at the NAU Mountain T’s Invitational (Jan. 31) with 3,797 points… Took fifth in the 60m hurdles with career-best time of 8.55 seconds... After the season, was named to the USTFCCCA and Mountain West All-Academic Team.

Outdoor: Season was canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic.

2018-19:
Indoor: Took second in the pentathlon at the MW Championships with 3,916 points, the third most in school history... Also took sixth in the long jump and 12th in the high jump.…Set new PRs for the high jump (5-07.00), long jump (19-00.75), shot put (41-01.75) and 800m... Her high jump mark of 5-07.00 is the third best in school history.

Outdoor: Competed in the heptathlon (3rd, 5.309), long jump (9th, 18-09.75), high jump (10th, 5-07.25), 100m hurdles (10th, 14.23) and shot put (14th, 40-03.50) at the MW Championships... Set new PRs in the 200m (25.26), 100m hurdles (14.14), high jump (5-07.25), shot put (42-09.50), javelin (108-4) and heptathlon (5,309).

2017-18:
Indoor: Finished in 12^th in the pentathlon at the MW Championships with 3,343 points, the 10^th most in program history… Also competed in the 60m hurdles (8.78; 10^th), the long jump (17-10.75; 7^th) and the high jump (5-1.25; 20^th) at the MW Championships… Had a career best mark in the shot put at the New Mexico Team Invite (37-3.75).

Outdoor: Finished in fifth place in the heptathlon at the MW Championships with 5,110 points… Also competed in the 100m hurdles at the MW Championships where she finished 13^th with a time of 14.24, a new personal best… Other season best times/marks: 200m (25.72), 800m (2:33.78), high jump (5-7.25), long jump (19-2.0), shot put (39-2.25) and javelin (86-5.0).

High School
Four-year varsity letterwinner at Mission Hills High School in San Marcos, Calif. ... 2017 CIF San Diego Section 100-meter hurdles champion, advancing to the state meet in 2015 and 2017 ... School record holder in the long jump (18-10.25 +1.3), high jump (5-06), 100-meter hurdles (14.26 -0.1) and shot put (35-02.50) . . . All-conditions personal records of 19-03.00 NWI in the long jump and 14.25 +2.3 in the 100-meter hurdles ... Earned Mission Hills High's Most Valuable Field Athlete award in 2017 and was the March 2017 San Diego Union-Tribune Athlete of the Month ... Earned the team's Coaches Award in 2015 and was the Outstanding Newcomer as a freshman ... Two-time Presidential Volunteer Service Award recipient ... Was also a competitive cheerleader for 12 years.

Asia Cymone Smith was born in Escondido, Calif. to James and Charnae Smith ... Has two older brothers, Ashton and Dorian ... 2017 Miss Greater San Diego Teen USA who is a Polynesian dancer and enjoys ceramic art and playing flute ... Majoring in journalism and media studies and hopes to become a sports broadcaster.
