Appeared in 43 of the Aztecs’ 51 games, starting 29 times with 20 starts coming in the outfield and other appearances at the corner infield positions and designated player… Batted .269 (25-for-93) with five doubles, four home runs (second on the team), 19 RBIs and 11 runs scored… Walked four times and stole a base in her lone attempt… Did not make an error all season… Tied for second on the team with six multi-RBI games in addition to five multi-hit games… Only Mac Barbara had more game-tying RBIs than Murphy (3) … Hit a two-run double and scored at Long Beach State on March 8… Drove a two-run homer to left and had a sacrifice fly on March 24 at Fresno State… Knocked an RBI double and hit a two-run homer and a single in a doubleheader at New Mexico on April 3… In another doubleheader, tallied three singles, driving in three runs on April 12 at San Jose State… Had two hits including a two-run double in the regular season finale at UNLV on May 4… Began the Mountain West Tournament with a two-run home run in the first inning on May 11 at Boise State… Hit a solo home run to tie the game against Grand Canyon in the NCAA Tournament, also walking in the game.

Started 37 of 56 games... Batted .271 (29-for-107) with two doubles, five home runs, 21 RBIs and 13 runs scored... Walked eight times and stole four bases... Went 2-for-2 with two singles, two walks, a stolen base and a run scored on Feb. 11 against Memphis... Tallied three hits including a home run and an additional run scored against Northern Illinois the next day... Singled in all three at-bats while scoring a run against Long Beach State on March 3... Belted home runs in consecutive games against Fresno State on March 25-26, driving in five runs in those two games... Hit an RBI single while walking, stealing a base and driving in a run by being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded against San Jose State on April 1... Went 3-for-4 with an RBI on April 7 at Utah State... Knocked an RBI double and scored at Nevada on April 16... Homered and hit an RBI single at Boise State on April 19... Doubled, singled and homered across two NCAA Tournament Regional games against Liberty, driving in three runs... Hit a pair of doubles in the Super Regional at Utah, driving in two runs and scoring.

Anchored the Aztecs at shortstop and started in 47 of the 48 games she appeared in … Finished her freshman campaign with a .324 batting average, a .353 OBP, two home runs, 26 RBIs, and had 45 hits over 139 at bats … Had a .960 fielding percentage with 52 putouts and 67 assists … Had 13 games with at least two hits  … Hit her first collegiate home run on March 11 against Weber State … Was 7-12 (.583) with five RBI and a double in a series at San Jose State April 29-May1 …Had her first three hit game at San Jose State on May 1 … Went 5-14 (.357) with two RBI and three runs scored in the NCAA Tempe Regional.

Earned four letters at Millennium High School in Goodyear, Arizona ... Named to the Desert West All-Region Second Team in 2019 ... Was a first-team all-conference selection and region offensive player of the year in 2021 … Ranked as the 86th-best recruit in the country by Extra Innings in 2020 …  As a sophomore, hit .426 in 17 games with three home runs and 20 RBIs … Also competed on the soccer team at Millennium HS, where she was named firs-team Desert West goalin in 2021 and competed for the state runners up in 2018.

AnneMarie Joy Murphy was born Feb. 10, 2003, in Goodyear, Arizona … Daughter of Dwayne and Lynne Murphy … Father played college baseball, while her mother played college soccer … Grandfather, Dwayne Murphy, was a six-time Gold Glove centerfielder for the MLB’s Oakland Athletics in the 1980s … Lists Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry as her favorite athlete … Is majoring in kinesiology pre physical therapy and hopes to be an athletic trainer after graduation.
