2020 SEASON - SENIOR
Was a team captain ... Was 3-2 with a 3.85 ERA in 43 2/3 innings before the season was cut short because of the COVID-19 pandemic ... Pitched in 16 games with seven starts, striking out 37 with 22 walks allowed, and limiting the opposition to a .275 average ... Tied for third in the Mountain West in appearances (16) ... Her ERA improved in night games (3.21), SDSU wins (3.30) and games against nationally ranked teams (3.50 ERA) ... Picked up her first win of the season against Nicholls on Feb. 7, allowing just one run on three hits over two innings, striking out three ... Also got the win against Loyola Marymount on Feb. 18, giving up one run on three hits and four walks over five innings, striking out a season-high seven batters ... Was the tough-luck loser against California Baptist on Feb. 26, allowing one unearned run on two hits over 4 1/3 innings, striking out five ... Pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings as the starting pitcher vs. Weber State on Feb. 28, giving up one hit and three walks ... Pitched 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief against No. 22/22 UCF on March 8.

2019 SEASON - JUNIOR

Had another good season, being named all-Mountain West for the first time, landing on the second team ... Was 12-12 with a 3.01 ERA, four saves, four shutouts and 120 strikeouts in 151 1/3 innings ... Started 20 times and pitched in 38 of the team's 51 games overall, completing eight of them ... Limited the opposition to a .230 average ... Tied for first in the Mountain West in appearances (38) and saves (4), and was third in opposing batting average (.230), fourth in strikeouts (120) and innings pitched (151.1), tied for eighth in wins (12), ninth in ERA (3.01) and tied for 10th in games started (20) ... Was even better in Mountain West play, going 6-8 with a 2.80 ERA, three saves and two solo shutouts in 80 innings, striking out 62 and holding her opponents to a .217 average ... Pitched in 20 of the team's 24 conference games, starting 11 and competing four ... Went 4-3 with two saves and a 1.72 ERA in 40 2/3 innings over the team's final 10 games as her opponents hit just .205 against her ... Was 7-3 with a 2.02 ERA in home games ... 2018 SEASON - SOPHOMORE

Had a solid season, despite not getting much run support ... Pitched in 42 of the team's 51 games, starting 37 times ... Was 6-16 with a 3.29 ERA in 155 1/3 innings, striking out 81 with 52 walks allowed, limiting her opponents to a .275 average ... Recorded six complete games and three shutouts ... Her 37 starts were the fourth most in SDSU single-season history, while her 42 appearances tied for ninth ... Led the MW in appearances (42) and games started (37), while ranking seventh in innings pitched (155.1) and ninth in strikeouts (81) ... Set career bests in most categories, including ERA (3.29), appearances (42), games started (37), complete games (6), shutouts (3), innings pitched (155.1) and opposing batting average (.275) ... Was 4-7 with a 2.54 ERA in 74 1/3 innings in home games and 4-5 with a 2.04 ERA in 75 1/3 innings in night games ... Opponents only hit .111 against her (2-for-18) with the bases loaded ... Shutouts came against Liberty (Feb. 22), Fresno State (April 20) and Utah State (May 10) ... Was named the MW Pitcher of the Week for the first time of her career on May 15 for her play against Utah State, going 2-0 with a 1.08 ERA in two appearances across 13 innings, striking out 12 batters against just three walks, while limiting the opposition to a .140 average.  

2017 SEASON - FRESHMAN
NCAA Rankings:  T-1st in hit batters (1)  

Pitched in 27 of the team's 49 games, starting 15 times ... Was 12-6 with a save and a 3.57 ERA in 96 innings, striking out 49 against 24 walks, while limiting the opposition to a .298 average ... Only hit one batter on the season, which was tied for the fewest in the country (min. 70 IP) ... Was ranked eighth in the league with 12 wins ... In MW play was 6-3 with a save and a 4.40 ERA in 14 appearances and 10 starts, recording 30 strikeouts against 13 walks ... Tossed two complete games and limited the opposition to a .311 average ... Was especially solid against nationally ranked teams, going 1-1 with a 2.21 ERA in 12 2/3 innings, limiting her opponents to a .283 average ... Was 8-2 with a 3.14 ERA in day games and 8-2 with a 3.39 ERA in road games ... Was very good as a reliever, going 5-1 with a save and a 1.11 ERA over 31 2/3 innings, limiting her opponents to a .268 average ... Opponents only hit .143 (1-for-7) against her with the bases loaded ... Posted a career-long streak of 13 innings without allowing a run from Feb. 24-March 2 ... Had a pair of four-game win streaks ... Got the win vs. New Mexico State on Feb. 26, tossing 4 2/3 scoreless innings with four strikeouts, and just one hit and one walk allowed ... Picked up the win vs. Utah on Feb. 26, allowing six hits and two walks over 5 2/3 innings, striking out two ... HIGH SCHOOL - TORRANCE
Was a four-year letterwinner at Torrance High School in Torrance, Calif., under Coach Donald Glavich ... Was a Cal-Hi Sports second-team all-state pick in 2016 and first-team selection for medium schools ... Received a CIF First-Team selection in both 2015 and 2016 ... Was the 2015 and 2016  Daily Breeze  All-Area Player of the Year ... Was the Pioneer League MVP in 2015 and 2016 ... Holds the Torrance High School career strikeout record with 526 and the single-season record with 264 ... Also is the school's record-holder in season victories (23) and career wins (40) ... Team was the 2015 CIF D4 Champions, as well as the 2016 CIF D4 runners-up and Pioneer League champions.

Marissa Moreno was born Dec. 29, 1997, in Torrance, Calif. ... Daughter of Irene and Gilbert Moreno ...Was also recruited by the Hawaii, New Mexico State, Utah State, and Oregon State ... Is majoring in interdisciplinary studies.
