Had one of the best single seasons in program history, becoming the first Aztec to earn second-team All-America honors from NFCA ... Was named the MW Player of the Week on April 18 for her play against New Mexico, batting .667 (4-for-6) with three home runs, nine RBIs, six runs, a walk, a hit by pitch, a stolen base and two sacrifice flies, posting a 2.167 slugging percentage, a .600 on-base mark and a perfect fielding percentage in 16 chances behind the plate ... Was 3-for-6 with six RBIs, two runs and a homer at Utah State on April 30 ... Also named the MW Player of the Week on May 16 for her play at Nevada, going 8-for-14 (.571) with two home runs, seven RBIs, five runs, two doubles and a walk, posting a 1.143 slugging percentage and a .600 on-base percentage.  

2016 SEASON - SOPHOMORE
Single-Season Rankings (after the 2016 season):  T-9th in home runs (9)  

Was invited to the 2016 USA Softball Women's National Team Selection Camp in Irvine, Calif., in early-January ... Had a remarkable season, despite missing 25 games with various injuries (concussion, sprained knee and fractured fibula) ... Started 25 of the 27 games she appeared in (came off the bench to pinch-hit in the other two appearances nursing the sprained knee) ... Hit .451 (32-for-71) with nine home runs, 23 RBIs, 26 runs, four doubles, a triple, 12 walks and six stolen bases, posting a .915 slugging percentage and a .535 on-base percentage ... Would have set school records in batting average (.451), on-base percentage (.535), slugging percentage (.915) and OPS percentage (1.450) had she enough at-bats to qualify (100, she had 71) ... Despite missing the 25 games, she still led the team in batting average (.451), home runs (9), slugging percentage (.915) and on-base percentage (.535), and was third in stolen bases (6) ... Her nine home runs were tied for the ninth most in SDSU single-season history ... Threw out two of the seven attempted base stealers ... In eight Mountain West games (six starts), batted .471 (8-for-17) with three home runs, seven RBIs, seven runs, a double, three walks and two times hit by pitch, owning a 1.059 slugging percentage and a .565 on-base mark ... Also hit the highest on the team in home games (.429), road/neutral games (.465), games won (.575), day games (.464), night games (.442), against right-handed pitching (.484), as a leadoff batter (.909), with runners on and two outs (.529) and with the bases empty (.552), ... Out of her 25 starts, 16 came at catcher, three at left field, three at right field and three as the designated player ... Had nine multi-hit games, six multi-RBI games, six multi-run games, five go-ahead RBIs, three game-winning RBIs and three game-winning runs ... Had an 11-game hitting streak to start the season, going 16-for-30 (.533) ... Started out her season with a bang, going 2-for-2 with a homer, two RBIs, three runs and a walk in the Canisius on Feb. 12, but was injured on the base paths late and missed the next nine games ... Scored four runs, and had two RBIs, a single and a walk vs. Oklahoma State on Feb. 25 ... Homered, walked and scored three more times vs. Bethune-Cookman on Feb. 26 ... Had a big game against CSUN (Feb. 27), going 2-for-2 with two homers, four RBIs, two runs and two walks ... Had three hits with an RBI and a walk vs. Stanford on Feb. 28 ... Had three hits again vs. Harvard on March 17 ... Had two hits with a run and a stolen base in back-to-back games vs. Princeton and Cal Poly on March 19 ... Injured her ankle vs. UC Santa Barbara on March 20 and came out to pinch hit vs. UNLV on March 25 and in the opener vs. Nevada on March 29, missing seven conference games in between March 24 and April 3 ... Returned to play against Colorado State on April 8, going 2-for-3 with a homer, two RBIs and a run ... Was 2-for-3 with a homer, three RBIs, two runs and a walk at San Jose State on April 15 ... Also homered the following day in the series ... Was off to a good start in the series finale with SJSU on April 17, going 1-for-1 with two runs and two times hit by a pitch, before fracturing her fibula on a delayed steal at home ... Missed the final nine games of the season with the injury.  

2015 SEASON - FRESHMAN
Single-Season Rankings (after the 2015 season):  T-4th in sacrifice flies (3), T-5th in RBIs (48), T-6th in times hit by pitch (5), T-9th in home runs (9), 10th in slugging percentage (.575)  

Had one of the best freshman seasons in program history, batting .347 with nine home runs, 48 RBIs, 30 runs, 11 doubles and 15 walks, posting a .575 slugging percentage and a .411 on-base percentage, playing in 55 of the team's 58 games with 52 starts ... Also was a perfect 6-for-6 in stolen-base attempts, while throwing out 14 of the 31 attempted base stealers (.452) ... Was named the MW Freshman of the Year for her efforts and was also a MW first-team selection ... Later helped Team USA win the gold medal at the 2015 XI WBSC Junior Women's World Championships and the Junior WNT place fifth at the World Cup of Softball X ... Finished with five all-time top-10 marks in program history, including tied for fourth in sacrifice flies (3), tied for fifth in RBIs (48), tied for sixth in times hit by pitch (5), tied for ninth in home runs (9) and 10th in slugging percentage (.575) ... Her 48 RBIs matched Lorena Bauer (2011) for the most in Aztec freshman history, while her 96 total bases were the most ... Was also ranked among the SDSU freshmen top-5 in extra-base hits (2nd, 20), home runs (2nd, 9), slugging percentage (T-2nd, .575), sacrifice flies (T-2nd, 3), hits (3rd, 58), doubles (T-3rd, 11), times hit by pitch (T-3rd, 5), OPS percentage (5th, .986) and runs (T-5th, 30) ... Had 14 multi-RBI games (second on team) and 19 multi-hit games (third on team) ... Led SDSU with 11 game-winning plays (GW RBIs + GW runs) and game-winning runs (5), while ranking second with six game-winning RBIs ... Also was one of three on the team with a walk-off RBI ... Hit .384 (28-for-73) with five home runs, 26 RBIs, 16 runs, six doubles, 12 walks, a .671 slugging percentage, a .478 on-base percentage and five stolen bases (on five attempts) in league play ... Had her first hit collegiate hit vs. Purdue on Feb. 7 ... First breakup game came against Stanford on Feb. 22 when she was 3-for-4 with a grand slam, five RBIs and a run ... Was named the MW Player of the Week on March 3 for her play from Feb. 27-28 at the San Diego Classic I, finishing 7-for-12 (.583) with a home run, seven RBIs, two runs and a double over three starts, while owning a .917 slugging percentage and a .583 on-base mark ... Added a pair of three-hit games on Feb. 27 vs. St. John's (3-for-5, 3 RBI, 1 R, 1 2B) and against Cal Poly (3-for-4, 2 RBI) ... Had a two-run homer vs. Iowa State on Feb. 28 ... Came up with two hits and two RBIs vs. Pacific (March 6) ... Was 2-for-3 with a homer, three RBIs and two runs at Boise State on March 27 ... Scored three times, had a walk, and singled the following day with the Broncos ... Had two hits in three straight games from April 8-10, doubling in each game and combining for five RBIs ... Had two RBIs in three straight contests from April 12-18, also scoring a combined four runs ... Batted .700 (7-for-10) with a homer, three RBIs and two runs vs. New Mexico from April 24-26 ... Was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, two doubles and a run at Utah State (May 1) ... Had a two-run homer vs. Oregon State on May 9 ... Hit a game-tying solo homer vs. Texas in the NCAA Los Angeles Regional on May 16, a game which SDSU eventually won ... SDSU was 8-1 when she homered at least once in a game.

Spent two years playing club ball with Firecrackers in Huntington Beach, Calif., under coach Tony Rico.  

HIGH SCHOOL - GARDEN GROVE
Was a four-year letterwinner at Garden Grove High School in Garden Grove, Calif., under coach Jasen Sutter and John Petrie ... Was a two-time league MVP and first-team selection (2013-14) ... Also was a first-team all-league pick in 2012 and in 2011 (with Rancho Alamitos High School) ... Was a first-team all-county honoree as a senior as the Argonauts made it to the second round of the Division 4 CIF Championship ... Led Garden Grove to three straight league titles (2012-14) ... Was named to the  MaxPreps  All-America second team in 2014 ... A three-time  MaxPreps  all-state first-team pick (medium schools) from 2012-14 ... Played in numerous all-star games as a senior ... Also was the O.C.A.D.A. Athlete of Character winner and the O.C.A.D.A. Garden Grove League Female Athlete-of-the-Year ... Played volleyball as a middle blocker for GGHS, as well as basketball, where she was a power forward and was named first-team all-league.

Jenavee Peres was born May 16, 1996 in Santa Ana, Calif. ... Daughter of Nick Peres and Lupe Aumua ... Niece of former Pittsburgh Steeler Troy Palamalu ... Was also recruited by Penn State, Oklahoma, Utah, Cal Poly and Louisville ... Is majoring in criminal justice.
