Ace of the pitching staff for the second consecutive year ... Arguably had a better season statistically than 2006 when she was named an NFCA all-West Region second-team pick and MWC Pitcher of the Year ... Improved from 17 victories in 2006 to 23 in 2007 ... Also saw improvements in appearances, games started, complete games, shutouts, innings pitched and strikeouts ... Earned all-MWC honors for the second straight season ... Led the league in ERA (1.90), innings pitched (228.2), wins (23) and appearances (45) ... Was second in opposing batting average (.229), strikeouts (201), games started (33) and saves (2) ... Posted nine shutouts, eclipsing her previous two-year total of eight (three at Kansas in 2005, five at SDSU in 2006) ... Struck out six and allowed five hits in a 5-0 Aztec win over Loyola-Chicago in the consolation game at the Stanford Invitational on March 11 ... Struck out a career-high 11 in SDSU[apos]s victory over Fordham on March 16 ... Followed that up with eight strikeouts against Fairfield (March 17) and a new career-high 12 against Miami (Ohio) on March 18 ... Tossed 5 2/3 innings of hitless ball against Miami (Ohio) before a bloop single in the sixth ended the no-hit bid ... Took a no-hitter into the seventh against BYU on April 5 before Emi Snow[apos]s single to center ... The hit ended a 12 2/3 inning hitless streak (1.2 at CS Fullerton, 5.0 vs. Brown, 6.0 vs. BYU) ... Three-hit UNLV and tied a career-high with 12 strikeouts on April 21 ... Had 11 strikeouts in SDSU[apos]s 1-0 loss to UNLV on May 6 ... Struck out 38 over four games and 28 innings (9.5 K/7 innings) from March 16-21 ... Aztecs were 21-11 when she earned the start in the circle and 11-13 when she didn[apos]t.

NFCA all-West Region second-team selection ... MWC Pitcher of the Year ... All-MWC selection ... Named to MWC all-tournament team ... Led the league in ERA (1.82) ... Was second in the conference in opponent batting average (.224), third in wins (17), fourth in innings pitched (169.0) and fifth in strikeouts (136) ... Did not allow an earned run in 15 of her 32 appearances including 10 of her 24 starts ... Completed 16 of the 25 games she started ... Went 8-2 with a 1.55 ERA in 67 2/3 innings of MWC play, and struck out 60 batters, while walking 10 ... Earned MWC Pitcher of the Week honors on April 4 ... Went 29 innings without giving up an earned run to start MWC play, her longest scoreless streak of the season ... Also had a 17-inning scoreless streak (Feb. 23-March 4) and a 11 1/3 inning streak to start the season from Feb. 9-Feb. 12 ... Did not allow an opposing runner to reach third base on four occasions ... Was 9-4 with a 1.20 ERA in home games; and owned an impressive 6.64 strikeout-to-walk ratio ... Even more remarkable was her success on the road in Mountain West Conference regular season games, despite playing at elevations of 5,000 feet (New Mexico), 4,800 feet (Colorado State), 4,553 (Brigham Young), 4,500 (Utah) and 2,030 (UNLV), Ross went 5-0 with a 1.35 ERA on the road against MWC foes. Five of the six runs she allowed came in a windy game at New Mexico ... Without that game out, she boasted a 5-0 record with a microscopic ERA of 0.26 ... In 31 1/3 innings at MWC schools, Ross struck out 27 batters and walked just four ... The Aztecs also were 18-3 when she struck out three or more batters.

2005 (University of Kansas): Was the Jayhawks[apos] top pitcher with a 12-9 record and 1.93 ERA ... Led Kansas to a 31-24 overall record, its best season since 1999 ... Season culminated with a trip to the NCAA Regional tournament ... Started 25 of the 36 games she appeared in and registered 11 complete games ... Struck out 111 batters and held opponents to a .229 batting average ... Tossed three solo shutouts and was part of two others ... Finished the season ranked among the Big 12 leaders in several categories including seventh in games started, eighth in shutouts, ninth in complete games, ninth in appearances and 10th in ERA ... Was a scholar-athlete.

High School: Four-year letterwinner at Valencia High School in Valencia, Calif. ... Earned All-Foothill League honors four consecutive years and led her team to four league championships ... A three-time league MVP, Santa Clarita Valley Player of the Year and Los Angeles Times Area Player of the Year ... Named to the Los Angeles Daily News All-Area first team three straight years ...
