Doubles – Played in 26 matches including all 23 dual matches… Competed on the top two courts… Played with Chikaya Sato and Eugenio Gonzalez Fitzmaurice… Tied for second with 17 overall wins (17-9) while leading the team with 15 dual wins (15-8) and four Mountain West wins (4-2) while going 2-1 in tournament play… Began the season playing with Sato, partnering up 14 times… Beat Sacramento State’s Silva/Novak 6-4 on Jan. 19… Won three straight matches between Feb. 16-21, taking down Idaho’s Garza/Civera (7-5), UC Riverside Huynh/Sane (6-1) and Point Loma Nazarene’s Strassburger/Weeks (6-0)…Took down Loyola Marymount’s Nothhaft/Pantino 6-4 on Feb. 29 and Gonzaga’s Roider/Gomez Galvan 6-4 on March 11… Advanced to the Round of 32 in the Pacific Coast Doubles Championships on March 1, defeating independents Brown/Thieler 6-0, 6-2 and Ball State’s Lancaster/Tran 6-7 (5-7), 6-0, 10-4… Finished the season partnered with Gonzalez Fitzmaurice, going 9-3 while playing on the second court for seven matches before going to the top court for the final five… After joining Seeman, won three straight matches, beating Tulane’s Petrovic/Scherer 6-2 on March 16, Texas Tech’s Collier/Sekiguchi 6-4 on March 17 and Portland’s Ocana Keremedchiev 6-2 on March 22… Won four straight matches to begin April… During that stretch, took down Nevada’s Zisswiller/Tregoures 7-5 on April 1, Air Force’s Deaton/Garner 6-1 on April 4, New Mexico’s Samaha/Recoura 7-6 (7-4) on April 8 and UNLV’s top duo of Ornberg/Atherton 6-4 on April 18… Played on the top court in the Mountain West Championships, beating Nevada’s Coupu/Kadiri 6-2 in the Quarterfinals and Utah State’s Paardekooper/Pinheiro 6-4 in the Semifinals.
Singles – Played in all 23 dual matches, with 20 times coming on the top court… Won five matches including a 2-0 record on the second court… Closed out February with three straight wins, beating Point Loma Nazarene’s Andrew Suver (6-3, 6-3), San Francisco’s Nikola Kuraica (3-6, 6-3, 6-3) and Loyola Marymount’s Yassine Smiej (6-1, 6-0)… Earned Mountain West Player of the Week on March 27 after he defeated Portland’s Oscar Brown (6-2, 6-2) on March 22… Was named All-Mountain West in singles for the fourth time for his play during the conference’s regular season… Earned a win in the Mountain West Championships Quarterfinals over Nevada’s Matheo Coupu (3-6, 6-4, 6-3).
2022-23 SEASON (As a Junior)
Doubles –Competed in 35 matches including all 18 dual matches with four partners… Competed on the top court in every dual match… Finished with a 16-16 overall record while going 11-6 in tournament matches and 3-2 in conference play… Tied Chikaya Sato for the team lead in wins (16) and finished runner up to Sato with 11 tournament wins, one of just two Aztecs in double figures… Named to the All-Mountain West Doubles team… Played 29 times with Chikaya Sato… Made the finals of the Kramer Collegiate Classic by beating Arizona’s Horwood/Sakagawa (8-5, Nov. 4), Oregon’s Breazu/Klov Nilsson (8-5, Nov. 5) and UC Santa Barbara’s Brady/Masjuan (8-6, Nov. 5)... Began March by winning eight straight matches to earn the No. 80 spot in the ITA rankings… Took down UC Santa Barbara’s No. 25-ranked team of Brady/Jordan 6-2 on Mar. 2… Won seven matches to win the Pacific Coast Doubles Championships, beating independents Hansen/Isaia (5-3, 4-1, Mar. 3) and Miller/Wood (4-2, 4-1, Mar. 3) before defeating Boston College’s Kasten/Campbell (4-0, 4-1, Mar. 3), California’s Banthia/Overbeck (6-4, 4-6, 6-2, Mar. 4), UC Santa Barbara’s Mrsic/Jordan (6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (5), Mar. 4), Pepperdine’s DeJonge/Zeitvogel (6-4, 6-3, Mar. 5) and Nebraska’s Gleason/Mueller (7-6 (3), 6-3)... Opened conference play with consecutive victories over Boise State’s Arca Costas/Bott (6-4, Apr. 2) and UNLV’s Verboven/Dabic (6-3, Apr. 6)... Finished the regular season with a win against Air Force’s Mascagni/Kersten (6-2, Apr. 22)... Paired up with Alexander Mandma three times, highlighted by a 8-4 win over Cal Poly’s Keyser/Crookston in the ITA Southwest Regional Championships on Oct. 21… Partnered with Eugenio Gonzalez Fitzmaurice twice, taking down San Francisco’s Kuraica/Cortimiglia 6-4 on Jan. 21 to start dual play… Also played once with Mathieu Josserand.
Singles – Competed in 34 matches including 17 of 18 dual matches, playing on the top court… Led the team with 14 wins and nine tournament wins (9-7 record) while tying for second with five dual wins… Named to the All-Mountain West Singles Team… Won his first two matches in the Battle in the Bay Qualifying on Sept. 16 against UNLV’s Jackson Atherton (6-1, 6-0) and Saint Mary’s’ Thibaud Maxant (6-2, 6-4)... Beat No. 46 Gustaf Strom, of Arizona, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the Hagedorn Hidden Dual on Oct. 14… Won six of seven matches in late October and early November, beating UC Santa Barbara’s Diego Castillo (6-1, 6-3), UC Irvine’s Ali Amiri (3-6, 6-4, 10-0) in the ITA Southwest Regional Championships on Oct. 21 before advancing to the finals of the Kramer Collegiate Classic by taking down UCLA’s Stefan Leustian (Walkover, Nov. 4), UC Santa Barbara’s Gianluca Brunkow (6-2, 1-6, 6-4, Nov. 4), Oregon’s Ray Lo (6-1, 7-5, Nov. 5) and Loyola Marymount’s Toky Nicolas Ranaivo (6-3, 3-6, 6-0)... Rattled off four straight wins to start the spring… Defeated Arkansas’ Stefanos Savva 6-4, 6-3 on Jan. 13 to earn Mountain West Player of the Week honors on Jan. 18… Followed it up by beating San Francisco’s Stevie Gould (6-2, 6-4, Jan. 21), Santa Clara’s Arthur Neuhaus (6-4, 6-1, Feb. 11) and Loyola Marymount’s Yassine Smiej (1-6, 6-4, 7-6 (6), Feb. 18)... Started out conference play by knocking off Boise State’s Sam Sippel 6-4, 6-4 on Apr. 2.
2021-22 SEASON (As a Sophomore)
Doubles – Competed in 25 matches… Played ten times with Alexander Mandma, winning three times in four matches against Fellin/Hadigian of Pepperdine (North Ranch Invitational, Sept. 26, 8-6), Tsorotiotis/Vedri of UC Santa Barbara (ITA Southwest Regional Championships, Oct. 22, 8- 3), and Ermert/Silberman of UC San Diego (Feb. 2, 6-3)… Teamed up seven times with Victor Castro, picking up consecutive victories against Gonzaga’s Anderson/Roider (Feb. 26, 6-3) and Pomona-Pitzer’s Madabhushi/Stark (Feb. 26, 6-2) and another win aginst Air Force’s Kersten/Krawietz (March 13, 6-0)… Competed seven times with Roni Rikkonen in dual play, winning against Sauer/Atherton of UNLV (April 8, 7-6 (2)) and Mascagni/Kersten of Air Force (April 29, 7-6 (5))… Also teamed up once with Jules Auffray.
Singles – Competed in 29 matches primarily in the top two spots in the Aztec lineup and finished with a winning record of 3-2 in conference matches… Won twice in the North Ranch Invitational by beating Zac Brodney of UNLV (Sept. 24, 6-4, 7-6 (5)) and Nic Wiedenhorn of Nebraska (Sept. 26, 6-4, 6-7 (4), 6-3)… Won his first match in both the ITA Southwest Regional Championships (Grand Canyon’s Jiri Novak, Oct. 22, 6-3, 6-3) and the Jack Kramer Collegiate Invitational (USC’s Paul Barretto, Nov. 5, 6-2, 6-3)… Played in the top spot and won his opening dual match against Daniel Traxler of UC San Diego (Feb. 2, 6-4, 6-3)… Won three of four dual matches by beating Pomona-Pitzer’s Charlie Stark (Feb. 26, 6-4, 6-2), Penn’s Kevin Zhu (March 12, 6-4, 7-6 (4)), and Air Force’s Nick Vroman (March 13, 6-3, 6-1)… Claimed three more victories against Mountain West opponents when he beat Zac Brodney of UNLV (April 8, 6-1, 6- 2), Simon Arca Costas of Boise State (April 21, 6-2, 6-4), and Jonathan Mascagni of Air Force (April 29, 6-3, 6-7, 6-3).
2020-21 SEASON (As a Redshirt Freshman)
Made a huge splash in his first season at San Diego State, earning all-Mountain honors in both singles and doubles … Finished with a No. 20 singles ranking in the Southwest Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
Doubles – Posted a 10-7 overall record at the No. 1 position, garnering all-MW accolades with Victor Castro after the Aztec duo racked up a 9-4 ledger … Tandem compiled a season-long five-match winning streak from March 21-April 9, highlighted by a thrilling victory over Loyola Marymount’s Diego Nava and Daniel Moreno, 7-6(5), that clinched the important doubles point, as the Scarlet and Black ultimately prevailed on the road, 4-3 (3-21-21) … Combo also emerged triumphant over fellow all-Mountain West doubles honorees Felipe Acosta/Javier Ruiz of Utah State (6-4 (4-1-21)) and Paul Hendrix/Jamie Bautista of Air Force (6-3 (4-9-21) … Pairing additionally registered a 6-2 conquest of Washington’s Clement Chidekh and Thibault Cancel, who entered the match with a 10-4 record (3-26-21), as well as a 6-4 victory over Boise State’s Blake Bayldon and Simon Arca Costa, who were 3-0 at match time (3-13-21) … Duo closed the year with a flourish with a pair of 6-3 decisions over UC Santa Barbara’s Stefano Tsorotiotis and Alejandro Vedri (4-28-21) and San Diego’s Nico Borter and August Holmgren (5-1-21) … Also teamed with Aaro Pollanen in his first six starts, including a 6-1 triumph over Philip Lan and Daniel Traxler of UC San Diego (2-26-21) … Duo previously battled Mor Bulis and Riley Smith of then-No. 1 USC to a 5-5 stalemate before their doubles match was suspended (2-7-21).
Singles – Received all-Mountain West singles recognition for the first time in his career after posting a team-high eight victories during the shortened 2021 spring slate that did not commence until Feb. 4 due to the COVID-19 pandemic … Started all 20 matches in the No. 1 position on the Aztecs’ ladder … Fashioned a five-match unbeaten streak between March 5-26, winning four and leaving another unfinished with a 1-0 lead in sets … Sparked SDSU’s thrilling victory at Loyola Marymount with a gritty decision against Diego Nava, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, overcoming an early service break in the third set, as the Scarlet and Black rallied from a 3-1 deficit on the team scoreboard (3-21-21) … Recorded an inspiring 6-1, 6-4 victory over No. 83 Clement Chidekh of Washington (3-26-21) … Found himself nationally ranked following that win over his Husky opponent, appearing at No. 123 for two weeks after the release of the ITA singles poll on March 30 … Provided the clinching point in the Aztecs’ 4-3 nail-biter over UNLV with a gritty three-set win over the Rebels’ Alex Kobelt, 7-6(7), 2-6, 6-3, earning MW Player of the Week honors for his effort (4-24-21) … Made his SDSU singles debut a successful one with a close shave of Cal Poly’s Antoine Noel, 7-5, 7-6(5), in the season opener (2-4-21) … Contributed to the Aztecs’ doubleheader sweep of UC San Diego after posting a three-set decision over the Tritons’ Daniel Traxler, 7-5, 1-6, 6-4, followed by a 7-5, 6-1 triumph over Cody Duong (2-26-21) … Overcame a one-set deficit to dispose of UC Davis’ Ivan Thammam 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-1 (3-5-21).
2019-20 SEASON (At Fresno State)
Doubles – Garnered all-Mountain West accolades in doubles during his lone season with the Bulldogs after posting a 9-3 record in dual matches playing alongside teammate Cagatay Soke … The duo emerged triumphant on all eight occasions Fresno State captured the doubles point, helping their squad climb to as high as 48th in the ITA team rankings … Duo opened the spring with five straight victories, including a 6-3 decision over then-No. 31 Jacob Wojcik and Rithvik Bollipalli of South Florida … The same tandem also knocked off pairings from two additional ranked schools, edging Tim Dollman and Tyler Stice of then-No. 44 Auburn by a 7-5 count before pinning a 6-4 defeat on Jonas Ziverts and Jared Horwood of then No. 34 Arizona in the second-to-last match of the year … Earlier during the fall tournament schedule, he teamed with Angus Bradshaw to reach the round of 16 at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships … The Bulldog combo opened that tournament with an 8-3 triumph over Gonzaga’s Kyle Everly and Eric Hadigan before dispatching San Francisco’s Mitch Johnson and David Woodland by an 8-5 tally in the round of the 32 … Pairing was unable to advance in the bracket, however, falling to Cal’s Paul Barretto and Can Kaya by the identical 8-5 count in the round of 16 … Also joined forces with Daniel Baturyn to post a 2-1 record in Flight B at the UCSB Fall Classic … Combo logged an 8-4 decision over Cal Poly’s Roman Shenkyrk and Fernando Fonseca in the first round before posting an 8-3 victory over UC Santa Barbara’s Alejandro Vedri and Alex Dominguez Soto … Tandem fell short in the title match, however, suffering an 8-5 setback to Cal’s Mert Zincirli and Thomas Wright.
Singles – Compiled a 9-15 record, including a 4-10 mark during the spring slate alternating between the second and third spots on the Bulldogs’ ladder … Helped Fresno State rally for a 4-3 upset over 48th-ranked Wichita State after toppling the Shockers’ Elio Lago, 6-2, 6-4 … Made his collegiate debut during the fall tournament schedule, defeating a pair of Saint Mary’s opponents in compass draw play at the Bulldog Classic … Breezed past the Gaels’ Boris Reckow, 6-1, 6-0, before upending Karlo Divkovic, 6-0, 6-4 … Finished seventh at the UCSB Fall Classic after downing UCLA’s Bryce Pereira, 6-2, 7-6(4), and Stanford’s Sam Turchetta, 6-3, 6-3, in the consolation brackets … Saw action in two matches at the ITA Northwest Regionals, where he defeated Gonzaga’s Kyle Everly, 6-3, 6-2.
