Dennis Sanchez enters his first season as assistant coach after being a four-year starter on The Mesa from 2006-09, and having several coaching stints in the Pacific Northwest.
Most recently, Sanchez was head coach of the Seattle United Soccer Club 2001 Boys Team from 2012-14, following a stint as head coach of the Washington State Olympic Development Program 1998 Boys Team from 2010-12 where he lead the squad to the 2012 Region IV championship.
Sanchez has over five years of experience working with Seattle Sounders FC of the MLS, which is one of the top expansion sports organizations in North America. He served as the Team Operations Assistant, while assisting with first-team scouting, the youth academy and team administration. In 2013, Sanchez was also head coach for the Seattle Sounders FC Special Olympics Unified Team at the CONCACAF tournament in Costa Rica, which was represented as the USA National Team.
At SDSU, Sanchez was a team captain in both 2008 and 2009, a two-time all-Pac-10 selection and was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com National all-Rookie team as a freshman. After starting 65 of 72 matches during his career at Montezuma Road, Sanchez began his coaching career as a volunteer assistant coach for Seattle University in 2010.
