2023 Season
Had a breakout season where he led the Aztecs in points (17) and goals (7)… Appeared in all 18 matches and made 12 starts… Finished top five in the Pac-12 in goals (7) and points per game (0.94)… Tied for the team lead in shots (32) and was second on the team with 12 shots on goal… Two of his goals were game-winners… Had three assists… Had a stretch of six straight matches with a point in non-conference play… Was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week and to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week after tallying six points (2 goals and 2 assists) in SDSU’s wins over George Washington and UC Riverside… Played 1,069 minutes and played at least 70 minutes in seven matches… Was named to the Pac-12 Honor Roll after the season.

Started in 13 of his 16 appearances… Tallied two goals and two assists for the season, including a one goal, one assist performance in a 4-2 victory over USD (10/15)... Played 811 minutes played on the season.

A four-star recruit that was ranked No. 35 nationally, No. 3 in New Jersey and the No. 6 forward overall by Top Drawer Soccer… Appeared in 24 games for the New York Red Bulls II in the USL Championship, the most ever for an academy player… In 2019, scored 13 goals in 10 games with the Seattle Sounders Academy… Has attended multiple U.S. Youth National Team camps… Scored in the FIFA Youth Cup in Switzerland… Made his professional debut at 15 with the Tacoma Defiance… Attended the Virtual Learning Academy Charter School in Exeter, New Hampshire.
Personal
Born in Concord, New Hampshire to Michelle and Russell Brummett… Comes from an athletic family. His parents were athletes at Harvard (dad – football, mom – soccer) and has three siblings who have played college soccer. Older brother Mason played soccer at Holy Cross, older sister Gabi played at Duke and Portland and his twin sister Sheridan plays at William and Mary… Polish striker Robert Lewandowski is his favorite athlete… Likes to play basketball in his spare time… Majoring in communication with aspirations to become a sports psychologist.

He has scored goals at the national team level, USL Championship level and I have no doubt he will score at the collegiate level. The San Diego State men’s soccer team (10-5-3) fell to San Jose State (6-7-7) 3-2 in the WAC Tournament semifinals Wednesday evening.

The San Diego State men’s soccer team begins the WAC Tournament Wednesday when they play the five seed San Jose State in the semifinals at 3 p.m. PT. The match will be streamed on ESPN+.
Hopkins & Doumbia Win WAC Major Awards
Head coach Ryan Hopkins was named the Coach of the Year and Djibril Doumbia was named the Goalkeeper of the Year. In addition to Doumbia, the Aztecs placed three others on the All-WAC First Team with Reid Fisher, André Puente and Terence Okoeguale being honored.
Aztecs Win WAC Regular Season Championship
The San Diego men’s soccer team (10-4-3, 7-0-1) shutout Air Force 2-0 in the regular season finale to complete their undefeated WAC season and clinch the regular season championship. This is San Diego State’s first conference championship in school history.
Aztecs Host Air Force for Senior Day
The San Diego State men’s soccer team closes out the regular season Sunday when they host Air Force for senior day at noon. SDSU can clinch the WAC regular championship Sunday with a win or draw.

Aztecs Shutout UTRGV 0-0
The San Diego State men’s soccer team (8-4-3, 5-0-1) remained undefeated in conference play after a 0-0 draw at UTRGV (3-6-4, 1-2-3) Thursday evening. This was the Aztecs’ second consecutive shutout and fourth since the beginning of WAC play (six matches).

Robbie Matei Named WAC Offensive Player of the Week
Matei scored the game-winning goal in SDSU’s wins over Seattle and San Jose State last week. He leads the Aztecs with six goals and four of those have been game-winners, which is the second most in the nation.

Aztecs Improve to 4-0-0 in WAC With 2-1 Win Over Seattle
The Redhawks, who hadn’t lost a conference match in two years, outshot the Aztecs 20-5 but just 5-3 in shots on goal. With the win, SDSU improves to a perfect 4-0-0 start to conference play for the first time in program history.

Reid Fisher Named WAC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year
Reid Fisher of the San Diego State men’s soccer team was named the WAC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year by the league’s coaches. Additionally, Austin Brummett was one of three forwards named to the Preseason All-WAC Team. Brummett led SDSU in points (17) and goals (7) last season.
