2010-11 Season
Became a regular member of the Aztec starting lineup, participating in 12 total events ... Season stroke average of 72.97 with eight top-20 finishes, including three in the top 10 ... Carded 13 rounds at or below par, highlighted by six efforts in the 60s.
Spring: Competed in 10 or 11 tournaments, including nine as a member of the starting five ... Ended up in the top 20 in six events ... Came in 12th at the Fresno State Lexus Golf Classic in early March, posting a 2-over 218 ... Tied as the team[apos]s No. 2 golfer at the San Diego Intercollegiate when he fired a 3-over 219 to place 11th ... Played as an individual at the Thunderbird Invite, tying for 16th with a 215, including a final-round 68 ... SDSU[apos]s top performer at the Western Intercollegiate when he came in eighth at 2-over 212 ... Was 17th at the conference championships and tied for 16th at the NCAA regionals ... Made his debut at NCAA nationals in Oklahoma.
Fall: Played in two of the team[apos]s three tournaments ... Had the Aztecs[apos] lowest stroke average of 69.50 and ranked sixth nationally by golfstat.com ... Competed individually at the season-opening William H. Tucker Intercollegiate, placing seventh with a 1-over 217, highlighted by a second-round 65 ... Part of the starting five at the Alister MacKenzie Invite, taking fifth with a career-low 13-under 200, including rounds of 67-67-66.
2009-10 Season
Achieved six top-20 finishes in his nine events ... Had a 73.63 stroke average
Fall: Placed first in the dual-match with Arizona with a 1-under 71 ... Shot a first-round 67 and ended up tying for 18th at the Firestone Grill College Invite with the Aztec `B[apos] squad.
Spring: Posted a pair of top-10 finishes in his seven spring tournaments ... Competed in a `B[apos] team event against local competition at the San Diego Intercollegiate, coming in seventh ... Was sixth at the USD Callaway Invitational at even-par 216 ... Shot a 2-under 211, including a first-round 68, to finish in a tie for 11th at the Battle at the Beach ... Had all three of his rounds count toward the team score at the Aggie Invitational ... Helped the Aztecs finish second at the MWC championships with a 3-over 216 ... Participated at his first NCAA regional tournament at Carlton Oaks.
2008-09 Season
Played in seven events for the Aztecs in his redshirt freshman season with a stroke average of 73.16.
Fall: Competed as an individual at the Sycuan Collegiate Invitational, shooting an even-par 216 to tie for 35th.
Spring: Achieved top-20 finishes in four of his six events ... Finished sixth with an 8-over 152, while playing as an individual at the San Diego Intercollegiate ... Fired a 4-over 148 to come in 10th overall at the CSU San Marcos Invitational ... His second-round 69 was SDSU[apos]s best score at the event ... Matched a team-low with his 68 at the Barona Collegiate Cup en route to a 1-under 215 and an 11th-place performance ... Carded a final-round 68 to pace the Aztecs to a runner-up finish at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational.
2007-08 Season
Fall/Spring: Utilized his redshirt season.
High School: Four-year letterwinner at Fallbrook High ... Coached by Steve Jorde ... Earned first-team all-Avocado League honors as senior after finishing with the lowest scoring average of 36.9 for nine holes ... Named Avocado League Player of the Year and helped his team to a league title ... Also earned the league player-of-the-year award as a junior ... Led the conference in scoring average and was first-team all-league in both his sophomore and junior campaigns ... Voted the team[apos]s MVP his final three seasons ... Member of the Principle[apos]s Honor Roll ... Tied the school[apos]s low-round score of 32.
Personal: Colin James Featherstone was born March 4, 1989 ... Son of Jay and Mary Featherstone ... Hobbies include surfing, as well as watching football ... Majoring in social science.
