As A Senior (2005-06 Season)
Fall 05: Marking his first tournament win of his collegiate career, Warthen ended the Club Glove Intercollegiate Tournament sharing co-medalist honors with fellow teammate David Palm...Since the Club Glove Intercollegiate, Warthen has never placed below the top-25 individuals in any tournament played during the fall season...Golfed two rounds in the 60s - 69 and 68 respectively - during the Barona Collegiate Cup.
As A Junior (2004-2005 Season)
Fall (04): Tied Aaron Choi for most rounds played during the fall with 15...Finished with a stroke average of 73.47...Had a pair of top 20 finishes...Finished third on the team with 13 of his 15 rounds counting toward the team score...Best round of the fall came on the final day of play in the semester when he shot a 66 in the Barona Collegiate Cup...That score tied Andrew Scott[apos]s first round at Fresno State for the lowest by an Aztec in the fall of 2004...Finished 15th at the Barona Collegiate with a 6-under 210...Was 2-under in the first event of the fall with a 214 at The Gold Rush...Shot 71-73-70 at that event to finish 15th...Also shot a 70 in the first round of play at Fresno State.
Spring (05): Led the Aztecs at the MWC championships, tying for ninth with a 2-over 218... Ended up 31st in his first career NCAA regional appearance with a 216 ... regional score is tied for fifth-best in school history... Had the third-lowest stroke average (72.85) and SCIRP average (+3.22)... Finished 15th at the PING Golf Cougar Classic, shooting 70-72-68 at the event and for a 6-under 210... Was named to MWC academic all-conference.
Summer (05): Participated in the 2005 CGA Amateur Championships with fellow teammate Aaron Goldberg... Carded a 68 on the frist 18 of play and finished at 141, tied for second place during the second round of play... Entered the third round at third place and finished with a score of 214.
Prior to SDSU:
Played two seasons at Allan Hancock College under head coach Mike Denne... Earned 2003 Western State Conference Player of the Year honors as he finished with the lowest stroke average... Individual champion at the 2003 Larry Carr Invitational... Won the 2003 Southern California Community College Championship and finished second, one stroke out of first, at the California CC state championship... Was named Allan Hancock[apos]s 2002-03 Scholar Athlete of the Year... Did not play competitive golf in high school, but instead lettered in soccer and baseball at Arroyo Grande High School.
