Played in eight of the 12 games in his first year with the Aztecs, earning his first start against UCLA on Sept. 9 ... Tied for eighth in FBS in interceptions returned for a touchdowns (1, T-2nd in MW) and tied for 48th in interception yards (70, 7th in MW) ... Made his Aztec debut againt Ohio on Aug. 26, playing on special teams ... Was productive in his two defensive snaps against Idaho State on Sept. 2 ... Recorded his first two solo tackles as an Aztec ... Enjoyed the best game of his career at Hawai’i on Oct. 14 ... Named the team’s co-defensive player of the game with Zyrus Fiaseu ... Making the start in his first career Mountain West game, he totaled three solo tackles (one TFL) and a pick six ... The interception was his first as an Aztec, second of his career, and was returned 70 yards for the first touchdown of his career ... The 70-yard return is SDSU’s longest since Segun Olubi had a 70-yard return vs. Hawai’i on Nov. 14, 2020, and is the 10th longest by an Aztec since at least the 1996 season ... His tackle for loss went for five yards as part of the Aztecs’ third straight three-and-out to begin the game ... Had a career-high four tackles (two solo) in his return from injury against Utah State on Nov. 4 ... Also recorded 0.5 sacks, the first of his career ...
