Bio entering the 2021 season
At San Diego State
- SDSU alumnus Ryan Krum returns to The Mesa for his first season as a graduate assistant with the Aztec football program and will work with the offensive line.
Collegiate Coaching Experience
- Spent one season across town as an offensive assistant at the University of San Diego, working with the Toreros’ offensive line after the team’s schedule was delayed until the spring of 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
- In addition to assisting the USD offensive line in individual drills and team periods, Krum led the scout team blitz walk-throughs and broke down film while evaluating offensive line recruits.
Other Coaching Experience
- Began his career as an offensive line coach at the prep level in San Diego County with stops at Sweetwater High (2017), Valhalla High (2018) and St. Augustine (2019).
Collegiate Playing Experience
- Played two seasons (2015-16) at San Diego State as an offensive lineman after transferring from UAB, which temporarily dropped its football program following the 2014 campaign.
- Appeared in four straight games as a reserve during the 2016 campaign: vs. San Jose State, at Utah State, vs. Hawai’i and at Nevada. Also made the travel roster for the Aztecs’ clash against Houston in the 2016 Las Vegas Bowl, but did not play in the contest.
- Sat out the 2015 campaign for SDSU after suffering injuries during the year.
- Did not play in his lone season at UAB in 2014 after utilizing his redshirt year.
- Played two seasons at Grossmont College, earning all-conference honors as a sophomore in 2013. Was listed as a two-star recruit by 247Sports.com.
Education
- Earned a bachelor’s degree in social science from San Diego State in 2017.
- Excelled in the classroom, earning SDSU scholar-athlete honors on two occasions.
