Bio entering 2021 season
At San Diego State
- Daniel Bleske joins the Aztec football staff as a graduate assistant this season and will work with the quarterbacks and wide receivers.
Previous Coaching Experience
- Prior to his arrival in “America’s Finest City”, Bleske spent one season a graduate assistant and wide receivers coach at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana.
- Served as the Engineers’ offensive coordinator for their 2020 fall intrasquad scrimmage before their schedule was moved to the spring of 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Spent two seasons as an offensive analyst at Michigan in 2018 and 2019.
- In addition to his gameday responsibilities with the Wolverines, Bleske helped with the creation of weekly base alignments, stunts and personnel presentation for opponents and and ran the scout team secondary.
- Bleske played a key role in recruiting offensive linemen to the Ann Arbor campus as well, watching film and planning visits. He was also responsible for individual coaching of new freshmen on scheme, terminology and techniques, among his other duties.
- Before his move to Michigan, Bleske spent two years with the football program at Minnesota while pursing his undergraduate degree. He began working with the Gopher staff as a special teams/offensive assistant in 2016 before helping with the team’s running backs, wide receivers and tight ends as an offensive intern the following season.
- During his first year, Minnesota finished with a 9-4 record, capped by a 17-12 victory over Washington State in the Holiday Bowl in San Diego.
Education
- Received his undergraduate degree in economics from Minnesota in 2017. Also minored in management and earned his accounting certificate.
- Is pursuing a master’s degree in sport management from Indiana State and is expecting to graduate in the spring of 2022.
- Has also enrolled in the MBA program at SDSU this fall.
