Big body who continues to learn the Aztec offense ... Will look for playing time this year after working with the scout team last season ... Enters 2021 as the third ‘Y’ tight end.

JUNIOR SEASON (2020)
Did not play during his first season at San Diego State.

SADDLEBACK COLLEGE (2018-19)
Played two years at Saddleback College ... Caught 10 passes for 67 yards (6.7 avg.) in seven games in 2019 ... Logged three statless appearances in 2018.

PALOMAR COLLEGE (2017)
Spent one season at Palomar College, redshirting the 2017 campaign.

HIGH SCHOOL
Prepped at East Coweta High School in Sharpsburg, Ga., earning four letters ... Also competed on the basketball, baseball and track & field team for the Indians.

PERSONAL
Kyler Albanez was born May 10, 1998, in Huntington Beach, Calif. ... Son of Shanon Pouelsen, who lettered on the San Diego State softball team from 2002-05 and ranks in a tie for ninth all-time at SDSU in triples (7, through 2021 season) ... Is majoring in psychology with plans of becoming a psychiatrist and also to work in real estate.
