Originally played his high school ball at Troup High School in LaGrange, Ga., where he was the Scholar-Athlete of the Year ... Played at Troup with fellow Aztec Daryl Dunlap ... Played in the North-South All-State game ... Captained the team as a senior ... A three-star recruit by Scout.com and 247Sports.com, and a two-star recruit by Rivals.com ... Received recruiting interest from Florida State, LSU, Memphis, Miami, North Carolina, Oregon, TCU and Tennessee as well ... Is majoring in communication with a concentration in liberal arts.
