FRESHMAN SEASON (2016)
Saw action in 11 games on special teams, registering one assisted tackle against Hawai'i ... Did not play in the first two games, but logged special teams snaps at Northern Illinois and in the next seven games as well ... Did not play at Wyoming (Nov. 19), but played in the final three games of the season, including the MW Championship at Wyoming (Dec. 3) and the Las Vegas Bowl vs. Houston.

HIGH SCHOOL
Earned three letters at Canyon Country High School ... Was the Foothill League Defensive Player of the Year as a senior ... Also was a two-time first-team all-league pick and second-team selection another season ... In three seasons, amassed 188 tackles (171 solo), 8.5 tackles for loss, 14 interceptions, 20 pass deflections, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries, according to MaxPreps ... Also totaled 1,241 all-purpose yards as a senior, including 740 receiving yards and nine touchdowns on 45 catches ... Also excelled in track and field, earning all-city accolades winning both the 100 and 200 at the league championships ... Garnered first-team all-area honors in track and well.

Israel Dante Cabrera was born Feb. 17, 1997 ... Son of Fran Cabrera ... Twin brother, Liam, also plays on the football team ... Is majoring in criminal justice.
