  • Physical defender who Coach Rocky Long called the best defensive tackle in the Mountain West in 2014 and the best defensive lineman in 2016 ... A quick and agile athlete, who always seems to be in the right place at the right time ... Moved to right defensive end in 2015, but moved back to defensive tackle for final two games with starting DT Christian Heyward out for the year with a torn ACL ... Battled a dislocated shoulder most of his final season ... Finished his SDSU career tied for fourth in sacks (19.0) and tied for seventh in tackles for loss (40.0).

    Was named a captain by his teammates ... Was chosen as a first-team all-MW selection for the second straight season, becoming the first Aztec defensive lineman to earn first-team all-MW honors multiple times ... Was named SDSU's defensive lineman of the year for a third straight season and also earned the team's Dr. R. Hardy/C.E. Peterson Memorial Trophy (team captain award) ... Started and played in each of the first 10 games before missing the Air Force and San Jose State contest with a foot injury, and also the Poinsettia Bowl vs. Navy ... Had 39 tackles (21 solo), 9.0 tackles for loss, three sacks, three pass breakups, six quarterback hurries, a forced fumble and a blocked kick ... Ranked second on the team in tackles for loss (9.0) and tied for second in sacks (3.0), despite missing the final three games ... Ranked ninth in the MW and sixth among defensive linemen with 0.90 tackles for loss per game ... Was also eighth in tackles per game (3.9) among defensive linemen ... The 9.0 TFL are the most by an Aztec defensive lineman since Ernie Lawson had 9.5 in 2010 ...
