A two-year letter winner at Tesoro High School in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., the same hometown as former Aztec great tight end and current Kansas City Chief Gavin Escobar ... Played wide receiver in high school but is expected to fill out and play tight end at San Diego State ... Had 47 catches for 731 yards (15.6 avg.) with eight touchdowns as a junior ... Was a two-time all-league pick and the offensive player of the year as a senior ... Also was chosen as Tesoro High's offensive player of the year and impact player of the year ...
