Entered the year third on the depth chart but took most of the backup snaps at No. 14/15 Utah on Sept. 17 ... Ended up missing most of the 2022 season with a collarbone injury but did return to practice.

Did not play in any games, but was on the travel roster all season. Was third on depth chart for quarterback.

TRUE FRESHMAN SEASON (2022)
Played in three of the team’s first five games before being sidelined with an injury ... Was 5-for-17 for 53 yards and a touchdown with one interception ... Played late against Arizona on Sept. 3, the first offensive snaps of his career ... Carried once for eight yards but did not attempt a pass ... Did not play against Idaho State on Sept. 10 ... Played his first significant snaps (47) off the bench at No. 14/15 Utah on Sept. 17, going 5-for-16 for 53 yards and a touchdown with one interception ... The touchdown was an 18-yard pass to Joshua Nicholson and came with 3:56 left in the fourth quarter for SDSU’s only touchdown of the game ... Did not play vs. Toledo on Sept. 24 ... Was 0-for-1 at Boise State on Sept. 30 in just nine snaps, while getting sacked three times for 28 yards before suffering an injury ... Did not dress  the rest of the season because of the injury.
