Joins the Aztecs with two years of Division I collegiate experience, playing 2022 and 2023 at Tennessee State in Nashville, Tenn. … Named to the 2022 Ohio Valley Conference second team at defense and also to the all-newcomer team … Started all 22 games in his Tiger career, recording 68 tackles, six tackles for loss and 18 pass breakups … Led team in PBUs both seasons with his 10 in 2022 ranking second in the OVC … Logged a career-best eight tackles in a game against UT Martin … Prior to TSU, played one season at Santa Ana College in Santa Ana, California, where he made 19 tackles, two interceptions (including a pick-six), and seven pass breakups in nine games in 2021.

His brother, Clark Phillips III, is currently a cornerback for the Atlanta Falcons after starring for Utah in college.
