Played in two games, starting the regular-season finale against Brigham Young and kneeling down in victory formation in the New Mexico Bowl ... Was 19-for-24 for 172 yards and a touchdown without throwing an interception ... Had a 79.2 completion percentage and a 153.12 pass efficiency rating ... Also had eight rush attempts for seven yards (0.9 avg.) with a long of five yards ... If you take away the two times he was sacked for seven yards, he rushed six times for 14 yards (2.3 avg.) ... Did not play in the opener vs. Weber State, or in games at UCLA, at New Mexico State, vs. Utah State, at Colorado State, against Wyoming, at San José State, at UNLV, vs. Nevada, vs. Fresno State or at Hawai’i ... Earned his first career start in his first career appearance against Brigham Young, going 19-for-24 for 172 yards and a touchdown without throwing an interception ... The touchdown pass was the first of his career and was the only touchdown of the game ... REDSHIRT SEASON (2018)
Was on the travel squad in three games, but ended up redshirting behind upperclassmen Ryan Agnew and Christian Chapman.

HIGH SCHOOL
Played three seasons at nearby Helix High School in La Mesa, the same high school as fellow 2018 recruit Rashad Scott and 2019 signee Michael Shawcroft ... Helped the Highlanders to a 34-7 (.829) record over the three years, including a state championship appearance and 13-2 record in 2017 ... Was 368-for-546 (67.3 pct.) for 5,544 yards, throwing for 62 touchdowns against just eight interceptions (according to MaxPreps) ... Also ran 129 times for 590 yards and an additional seven scores ... Had a tremendous senior season in 2017, completing 162 of 235 attempts (68.9 pct.) for 33 touchdowns with just three interceptions, while rushing for 316 yards and four touchdowns ... Was a two-time all-CIF pick and a two-time league offensive player of the year ... Was a two-time team captain ... Also played basketball at Helix High.
