2023 SEASON (As a Redshirt Junior): Made 12 appearances, posting an 0-2 mark with an 8.06 ERA in 22 1/3 innings of work… Received a starting assignment in his first five games of the year… Logged seven scoreless outings, including two to begin the season… Fanned five hitters across five innings in the series finale at Arizona State (2-19-23)… Followed that effort with another five-inning stint, setting a season high with seven strikeouts against Hawai’i in the Tony Gwynn Legacy but did not factor in the decision for the second game in a row. (2-27-23)… Combined with seven other Aztec hurlers in a 1-0 home shutout of crosstown adversary USD, fanning the final two hitters to retire the side in his seventh-inning appearance (4-18-23)… Pitched 1/3 of an inning in SDSU’s opening-round loss to Air Force at the Mountain West Championship (5-25-23)… Landed on the Mountain West all-academic team for the second straight year.

2022 SEASON (As a Redshirt Sophomore): Saw his first extended action in a Scarlet and Black uniform, posting a 1-3 record with a 3.72 ERA and two saves in 23 appearances … Ranked second on the team with a .195 opponent batting average (.1953) … Was also slotted fourth with 49 strikeouts in 36.1 innings … Allowed just one walk or less in 17 games and yielded one hit or less in 14 contests, including his final five appearances of the year ... Fanned three or more batters on six occasions, including a career-high nine strikeouts in his first collegiate start at UC Irvine (2-22-22) … Also tossed a career-long 4. 1 innings in that outing vs. the Anteaters … Notched his first collegiate save after posting six strikeouts in the final three innings of SDSU’s 4-3 triumph over Arizona State (3-6-22) … Collected his first victory in an Aztec uniform after striking out two batters in one scoreless inning of SDSU’s 14-7 romp at UC San Diego (3-22-22) … Registered five strikeouts in two innings vs. Fresno State (3-25-22) … Offset two hits with a pair of strikeouts in a scoreless final frame at New Mexico to secure his second save of the season after the Aztecs held on for an 11-8 decision in eight innings (4-16-22) … Fanned four batters in three scoreless innings of SDSU’s come-from-behind 7-6 victory in 12 innings over Air Force (5-8-22) … Earned a spot on the Mountain West all-academic team after the season.

2021 SEASON (As A Redshirt Freshman): Did not compete.

2020 SEASON (As A Freshman): Pitched 1 1/3 innings with a pair of strikeouts in two games as a reliever during his first season on The Mesa that was canceled on March 12 due to the COVID-19 pandemic … Made his collegiate debut vs. UNC Greensboro at the Baseball by the Beach event in Conway, South Carolina (2-16-20) … Tossed one inning in the opener of a home series vs. Oregon State (2-27-20).

PRIOR TO COLLEGE: Graduated in 2019 from Orange Lutheran High School, where he helped the Lancers capture three straight National High School Invitational (NHSI) championships … Garnered first-team All-America accolades from Collegiate Baseball magazine and received Trinity League Pitcher of the Year honors as a senior after posting a 7-0 record, a 0.60 ERA and 57 strikeouts in 46.1 innings, according to MaxPreps … Was part of an Orange Lutheran squad that compiled a 27-6 overall record and a 14-1 mark in conference play before falling in the third round of the CIF Southern Section Division I playoffs … Also drew interest from Long Beach State during the recruiting process.

PERSONAL: Parents are Cris and Crystal Guzman … Lists Mariano Rivera as his favorite athlete … Enjoys playing spikeball, going to the beach and cliff jumping … Intends to major in kinesiology at SDSU with career plans to become a chiropractor.
