PRIOR TO COLLEGE: Graduated in 2020 from Damien High School in La Verne, California, where he was a teammate of fellow Aztec newcomer Shaun Montoya … Won four varsity letters for head coach Andy Nieto, earning all-conference honors in 2018 and 2019 … Helped the Spartans capture the 2019 Baseline League championship and advance to the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division II playoffs … Was listed as a top 500 recruit nationally by Perfect Game and was ranked as the No. 20 shortstop in California for the class of 2020 … Garnered second-team preseason All-America accolades for the California region in 2020 by Perfect Game and received preseason Underclass All-America recognition for three straight years, meriting third-team honors in 2019 … Played four years of travel ball with the CBA Marucci program, earning all-tournament distinction at the 2019 PG Fall Upperclass National Championship in Phoenix, Arizona, after helping his squad advance to bracket play … Also excelled in the classroom, landing on his high school’s honor roll during his final two years as a prep.
