Led the Scarlet and Black in batting average (.455), on-base percentage (.571), slugging percentage (1.091) and RBIs (6) in that span while tying for the top spot with five hits, four of which went for extra bases … Drove in at least one run in all four of those contests … Belted a first-inning home run for SDSU's lone tally in a 1-0 victory over USD, which snapped a three-game losing streak vs. the Toreros (4-18-23) ... Delivered a key three-run triple in the sixth inning of the Aztecs' 4-0 series-opening whitewash of Nevada, providing teammate TJ Fondtain with the run support in his historic no-hitter. (4-21-23) … Smacked a run-scoring double against Wolf Pack in the sixth inning of SDSU's 4-3 win in game two (4-22-23) … Topped the squad with two hits in the series finale, including an RBI double in the first inning and later stole a base (4-23-23) ... Reeled off a seven-game hitting streak from May 7-25 … Went 1-for-3 with a crucial run scored in the Aztecs’ come-from-behind 8-6 victory over New Mexico that clinched a share of the Mountain West regular-season championship in SDSU’s home finale (5-20-23) … Was listed 12th among the nation's top 150 outfielders in D1Baseball.com's preseason player rankings ... SUMMER 2022: Saw action in 41 games for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox of the Cape Cod Baseball League … Was named to the CCBL All-Star Game … Ranked third in the league during the regular-season schedule with a team-high .329 batting average while finishing among the individual leaders in hits (4th, 47), stolen bases (T-4th, 15) and RBIs (T-11th, 19) … Was also slotted third among Red Sox regulars with a .399 slugging percentage and ranked fourth with a .388 on-base percentage … Additionally made four pitching appearances, posting seven strikeouts without a walk while yielding two hits in a combined 5 2/3 innings … Batted .333 (6-18) in four playoff games with one homer, four RBIs and five runs scored … Compiled multiple hits in 14 contests, totaling a season-high three hits on six occasions … Drove in two runs in seven different games.
2022 SEASON (As A Sophomore): Received first-team all-Mountain West recognition as an infielder… Led the Aztecs in numerous categories, including a slash line of .388/.426/.509, as well as hits (83), doubles (15), total bases (109), RBIs (40) and stolen bases (19) … Finished among the conference leaders in steals (2nd, 19), batting average (3rd, .388), sacrifice bunts (T-4th, 5) and hits (T-8th, 83) … Ranked fifth in the MW with 1.54 hits per game, which was good for 35th nationally ... Hit safely in 28 of his final 31 starts of the season, including a team-best 16 consecutive games from April 22-May 20 … Batted .448 (57-127) with 27 RBIs, 23 runs scored and 14 stolen bases over the final two months of the 2022 campaign (31 games), raising his season average from .299 to .388 during that stretch … Hit .423 (30-71) with runners in scoring position ... Drove in 12 runners from third base with less than two outs in 19 opportunities for a 63.2 percent success rate ... Became just the second SDSU player in the last six seasons to record six hits in a single game (Jaden Fein – 2021) after notching a career-high 6-for-6 effort in SDSU’s 14-13 nail-biter over New Mexico in the second game of a weekend series (4-15-22) … Led the Scarlet and Black with multiple hits in 26 games, accomplishing the feat in 15 of his last 22 starts… Also topped the squad with multiple RBIs in 12 contests, highlighted by the aforementioned performance vs. the Lobos when he set a collegiate best with four runs driven in … Went 7-for-8 at the plate with a combined four RBIs and three runs scored, helping SDSU capture the final two games of a home series vs. Air Force (5-6/7-22) … Ranked third on the Aztecs with 50 position starts, including 24 at shortstop, 14 at second base, nine in center field, five behind the plate and one at designated hitter … Also drew a starting pitching assignment vs. Iowa (3-15-22) … Topped the squad with a .423 batting average and 52 hits against Mountain West competition, which ranked second and third in the league, respectively… Also notched a team-high 27 RBIs and swiped 15 bases vs. league foes, the latter of which was good for third in the MW.
2021 SEASON (As A Freshman): Cracked the starting lineup in 33 of 37 appearances during his rookie campaign, batting .270 (30-111) with two homers, 23 RBIs and 37 runs scored … Ranked fourth on the squad with 21 walks and tied for the fourth spot with 11 doubles … Posted a .441 slugging percentage and a .406 on-base percentage … Went 3-for-3 in stolen base attempts … Recorded a 91 percent success rate with runners at third with less than two outs, delivering 10 RBIs in 11 chances … Finished with two or more hits in eight games and collected multiple RBIs in seven contests … Displayed his versatility with 21 starts at third base, five in left field, three in center field, three at second base and one at designated hitter … Roped a two-run single in his first career at-bat, helping the Aztecs to a 14-7 victory over visiting San Diego in the season opener (2-19-21) … Scored the winning run as a pinch runner vs. New Mexico, as SDSU capped a furious rally with six markers in the ninth to defeat the Lobos 10-9 in the first game of a home series (4-2-21) … Drove in three runs with a pair of doubles in the Aztecs’ 9-1 romp over Dixie State at home (4-26-21) … Belted his first career homer—a solo shot in the first—to help key a five-run outburst, as the Scarlet and Black rolled to a 17-3 run-rule victory at home vs. San José State (5-8-21) … Also went yard in the first game of a weekend series at Air Force, finishing with a career-high three hits, three RBIs and four runs scored in another 17-3 San Diego State rout (5-22-21) … Doubled and scored a key run in the seventh in the season finale at New Mexico, as the Aztecs held on for a 11-10 victory (5-29-21) … Also pitched 1.1 innings in a pair of relief appearances at San José State (3-27-21) and vs. Nevada (4-11-21), allowing two unearned runs in the latter contest.
PRIOR TO COLLEGE: Won four varsity letters in baseball for head coach Sean Gilbert at Turlock High School, where he was a prep teammate of current SDSU football player Garret Fountain … Garnered first-team all-Central California Athletic League accolades as a utility player during his junior campaign in 2019 after leading the Bulldogs to the conference title and a berth in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division I quarterfinals … Topped the squad with 39 hits and 18 stolen bases that season, compiling a .438 batting average with one homer, seven doubles, 19 RBIs and 32 runs scored, according to MaxPreps … Also finished second on the team with a .524 on-base percentage and ranked third with a .573 slugging percentage … Earned first-team all-conference honors at catcher as a freshman, throwing out 11 of 18 base stealers … Twice competed at the prestigious Area Code Games as a member of the Athletics squad … Ranked No. 11 among catchers in California for the 2020 high school graduating class by Perfect Game and was rated 57th nationally at his position … Received a scouts grade of 9.5 from Perfect Game and was listed among the top 500 recruits in the nation by the website … Earned preseason All-America high honorable mention in 2019 from Perfect Game before meriting the same plaudits for the California region prior to the 2020 campaign that was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic … Appeared in the exclusive 2019 PG National Showcase in Phoenix, Arizona … Collected all-tournament honors as a member of the Trosky National club team at the 2018 PG 16U World Series and the 2019 17U PG World Series … Played for the NorCal Baseball Prime squad that shared the tournament title at the 2019 WWBA 17U West National Championship in Surprise, Arizona … Also lettered twice for his high school basketball team, earning first-team all-conference honors and defensive player of the year accolades at the point guard position as a junior … Received scholar-athlete recognition all four years as a prep.
PERSONAL: Son of Mike and Lisa Carrigg … His father lettered twice in baseball at San José State in 1993-94 and played independent ball with the Salinas Peppers and Ogden Raptors … His older brother Matt also played collegiately at the University of Portland … Hobbies include fishing, snowboarding and horseback riding … Lists Pittsburgh Steelers Hall of Fame safety Troy Polamalu as his favorite athlete … Aspires to play in the major leagues … Intended major is communication.
