2020 SEASON (As A Sophomore): Started four games during his sophomore campaign that was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic … Posted a 1-1 record with a 4.05 earned run average and 17 strikeouts in 20.0 innings … Ranked among the Mountain West leaders in walks (T8th – 6) and earned runs allowed (T9th – 9) … Started the Aztecs’ season opener vs. Virginia Tech at the Brittain Resorts Baseball by the Beach event in Conway, South Carolina, where he fanned two batters in 3.1 innings (2-14-20) … Logged season highs of seven strikeouts and six innings pitched in the Aztecs’ 4-1 triumph over Iowa at the Tony Gwynn Legacy but did not earn the decision (2-21-20) … Struck out four hitters apiece in consecutive outings vs. Oregon State (2-28-20) and at No. 11/15 Oklahoma (3-6-20) … Picked up his lone victory of the year in that latter contest against the Sooners, allowing two earned runs in five innings, as the Scarlet and Black held on for a 5-4 win … Earned a spot on the Mountain West all-academic team.
2019 SEASON (As A Freshman): Started five games in 17 appearances on the mound during his first season on The Mesa … Compiled a 3-3 record and a 5.29 ERA in 51.0 innings … Ranked third on the team with 56 strikeouts, walking just 19 batters … Made his collegiate debut in the Aztecs’ 9-3 triumph over UC Irvine, countering one hit and one walk with a pair of strikeouts in 0.2 innings (2-19-19) … Picked up his first victory in a Scarlet and Black uniform in the second game of a home series vs. Seattle, yielding one run on two hits with no walks and eight strikeouts in 4.1 innings pitched (3-16-19) … Pitched six innings in his first career start vs. California Baptist (3-26-19) … Tossed 2.2 innings of relief in SDSU’s 11-6 victory over Fresno State, helping his cause with an RBI double and a run scored in his only two at-bats of the year (3-31-19) … Struck out a season-high nine batters in 5.2 innings of a narrow 8-7 loss at Nevada (4-5-19) … Received a starting assignment in four straight appearances from April 19-May 11 … Struck out eight in a season-high 6.1 innings without a decision in the Aztecs’ 6-3 win over Air Force (4-19-19) … Emerged victorious in a 10-6 triumph at Fresno State (5-11-19) … Ended the year with two innings of relief in the second game of the Mountain West tournament vs. Nevada (5-24-19).
HIGH SCHOOL: Was a four-year varsity letterwinner at San Diego High School for head coach Will Mercado ... Played middle infield and saw pitching duty for the Cavers ...
