He assumes the position after serving as the team?TMs student manager the past four seasons. In that capacity he assisted the SDSU coaching staff in the day-to-day operation of the baseball program as well as performing specific duties during game days.
As the team manager, Sholder was also involved in the running of the various youth camps conducted by the program as he coached campers ages 5-18 years in basic baseball fundamentals. He also served as the program's liaison to the Big Brother-Big Sister Program.
During the summer of 2014 Sholder served an internship with the San Diego Padres performing various functions as needed in the daily operation of the Major Leaguer club.
As a player, Sholder played first base at Dana Hills High School (Dana Point, Calif.) where he earned a pair of varsity letters. As senior in 2010 he compiled a .308 batting average and .421 on-base percentage as he helped the Dolphins to the runner-up spot at the CIF Championships that year.
Sholder served as coach for Dana Hills HS in the High School Freshman Baseball League from 2010-13. He was also coached the South Coast Surf U-13 travel team during the 2006-7 season where he coordinated practices and tournaments.
During his high school days he founded Cooper's Window Washing, a small business that washed glass fence panels in the community. He was responsible for hiring, sales and marketing.
The 23-year-old Sholder received his bachelor's degree in business management from San Diego in 2014.
