Was the Aztecs[apos] primary starter at shortstop last season and saw some action at third base ... Excellent defensive shortstop who had a two-year fielding percentage of .965 and was only caught three times in 28 steal attempts as a prep athlete ... Competed for the Fairbanks Goldpanners in the Alaska League during summer 2011 ... Batted .308 over 26 contests with three doubles and a pair of triples ... Played in the Connie Mack League during the summers of 2009 and 2010 ... Hit a home run in back-to-back games in the 2010 Lions Tournament in San Diego, including a walk-off two run blast against top-seeded McLean High School of Virginia.

SAN DIEGO STATE 2011
Was SDSU[apos]s starting shortstop in 41 contests in 2011 ... Made his first start at third base in the series finale at UNLV on May 21 and filled the same role in the season finale vs. Brigham Young (May 26) ... Began his Aztec career by going 5-for-11 during SDSU[apos]s opening weekend ... Had a personal-best six-game hitting streak end on March 20 vs. New Mexico ... That streak saw him hit .391 (9-for-23) with three runs scored and three RBI ... Reached base safely (via hit, walk or hit by pitch) in 11 straight games from March 10-26 ... Was the hero in SDSU[apos]s 3-2 win over 15th-ranked Arkansas on March 12 ... Trailing 2-1 with two on and two out in the bottom of the ninth, he singled up the middle to drive home both runners to give the Aztecs the victory ... At UC Riverside on March 22 he had a pair of hits including a double along with a season-high three runs batted in ... He drove home the tying run in the third inning as well as the go-ahead (game-winning) run in the fifth ... Season high three hits at Air Force on April 21 matching his output on opening day vs. Winthrop ... Committed only one error in the final 12 games of the season for a .972 fielding percentage.

Earned two varsity letters at Bishop O[apos]Dowd High School in Oakland, Calif. playing for skipper Chris Kyriacou ... A team captain both years ... As a senior, batted .352 with five doubles, four home runs, 24 runs scored and 18 runs batted in ... Had a .455 on-base percentage and .592 slugging average ...
