Express of the Northwoods League in the summer of 2012 ... Finished with a record of 1-1 with one save and a 5.38 earned run average ... Competed for the Santa Barbara Foresters during summer 2011 ... Compiled a record of 1-1 with a 3.86 earned run average in eight appearances (five starts) ... Walked seven and struck out 29 over 25.2 innings of work ... Played summer (2010) baseball for the SoCal Blast in the Connie Mack League.

SAN DIEGO STATE 2012
Made 12 appearances with the first 11 being in relief ... Longest relief outing of the year was 1.2 innings on two occasions ... Made lone start against TCU on May 26 at the Mountain West Tournament in Las Vegas ... Went four innings and was not involved in the decision in a contest eventually won by the Aztecs ... Recorded a season-high three strikeouts in that game ... Opponents hit just .200 against him in three Mountain West appearances.

SAN DIEGO STATE 2011
Split time between the starting rotation and the bullpen as a sophomore ... In 14 relief appearances covering 31.1 innings, allowed 15 earned runs for a 4.31 earned run average ... Also made seven starts during the season ... On March 29 against CSU Northridge, he took the mound in the bottom of the third with two out and the bases loaded, retiring the first batter he faced to end the threat ... He then tossed four more perfect innings, as he would retire all 13 batters he faced to record his first win of the 2011 season ... His other best effort came in the win at UC Riverside on March 22 ... He entered the contest to start the bottom of the fourth with SDSU leading 2-1 ... Tossed the final five frames (his longest relief outing of the season) allowing no runs on a hit, two BB and a hit batter ... With that effort he recorded his first save as an Aztec ... He notched his second save when he pitched the final inning vs. Utah on April 9 ... Other save came at Western Carolina on April 29 ... Had a season-high eight strikeouts vs. TCU on April 17.

SAN DIEGO STATE 2010
Moved into role of Aztecs[apos] No. 2 hurler in his first season of collegiate ball ... All 13 of his appearances were in a starting role ... Was named Mountain West Conference Pitcher of the Week on two occasions during the season ... First honor came after throwing seven innings against Monmouth on March 5 during which he allowed just one hit with three walks and seven strikeouts ... Picked up his first win as an Aztec in that contest ... Second award came two weeks later after a complete-game effort vs. Santa Clara when he allowed two hits and struck out eight ... The eight strikeouts were his season high which he later matched at TCU over 5.1 innings ... Tossed eight innings of shutout ball in win over Wagner ... Other victory came against Air Force.

HIGH SCHOOL
Played three seasons of varsity baseball at Coronado High School in Coronado, Calif. ... Coached there by Sam Ceci ... Finished his senior season with a record of 7-4, one save and a 2.01 earned run average ... First-team all-Western League honoree ... Struck out 104 and walked 32 in 66.1 innings while holding opponents to a .157 batting average ... As a junior in 2008, was winning pitcher in the Division IV CIF championship game, shutting out Christian High until the seventh inning and recording nine strikeouts as the Islanders built a 5-0 lead ... The previous week had tossed a no-hitter and struck out 10 against No. 4 seed Horizon High in the CIF Playoffs ... Selected to the all-CIF first team and was named the Division IV Pitcher of the Year ... Also played football during his freshman (2006) and junior (2008) years.
