Made a triumphant return to the lineup after missing the 2012 campaign with a broken leg ... Served as the Aztecs[apos] designated hitter in each game at University of San Diego on opening weekend (Feb. 15-17) ... In the opener he recorded a pair of doubles, a triple and two RBI with a run scored and a stolen base ... He batted .308 for the weekend, adding a double, RBI and run scored over the ensuing two contests ... Hit safely in eight of SDSU[apos]s first nine game this season and ended the year by hitting safely in seven of SDSU[apos]s final eight contests ... Had a personal-best six game hitting streak from April 23 to May 3 during which he went 8-for-20 (.400) with two doubles and five runs batted in ... Hit two home runs in a game at Fresno State on March 16 ... Other homer came in the ninth inning at Nevada on May 5 in a contest won by SDSU in 10 innings.

Suffered a broken leg during practice after the fourth game of the season and redshirted for the Aztecs ... Started three of SDSU[apos]s first four contests, two at catcher and one at designated hitter ... Recorded a double and triple among his six base hits .. Scored two runs in the season opener vs. Washington (Feb. 17) with a season-high three hits.

Started 27 times behind the plate during his first season at SDSU and seven times in the DH role ... Also made one start in left field ... Reached base safely (hit, walk or HBP) in 14 consecutive games (Feb. 27 to March 19) with base hits in 11 of those contests before failing to do so in the series finale against New Mexico on March 20 ... Put together a personal-best six-game hitting streak that ended on March 15 in the game at Loyola Marymount ... .During that streak he went 10-for-24 (.417) with three doubles, a home run and eight runs batted in ... Hit his first home run as an Aztec in the contest at CSU Northridge on March 8 ... Belted his second home run of the season to cap SDSU[apos]s four-run eighth inning rally that ended in a 13-10 win over New Mexico on March 19 ... Third homer came as a pinch hitter at Brigham Young (March 26) ... Had his best day at the plate with a three-hit performance vs. No. 3 Oklahoma on March 6 ... Also drove in a pair of runs in the first inning of that game and threw out a two runners attempting to steal ... Season-best three RBI vs. Utah on April 8.
HIGH SCHOOL
Won two varsity letters at Rancho Bernardo High School in San Diego ... Named the team captain for coach Sam Blalock[apos]s Broncos in 2009 and 2010 ... Posted a .347 batting average with eight doubles, six home runs and 36 runs batted over 34 games during his senior season ... Had a .406 on-base percentage and a .568 slugging average ...
