Played first season of college ball at Palomar Junior College under coach Buck Taylor ... Compiled a 3.86 ERA over 9 1/3 innings for the Comets ... Worked a hitless, scoreless relief inning in a 10-0 win over Ventura on Feb. 1, combining with three other pitchers for the shutout. ... Came back with another no-hit, shutout inning as the Comets beat the Pirates again on Feb. 8. ... Retired the side in order with a strikeout, ground out and fly out in a 7-2 win at Imperial Valley on April 5 ... Carried a 3.3 grade-point average at Palomar.

HIGH SCHOOL
Earned three varsity letters as a baseball player that included two years (2005-06) at Rancho Bernardo HS (San Diego) and one season (2007) at Carlsbad HS (Carlsbad, Calif.) ...
