Former Aztec pitcher Brandon Pullen being his first year as San Diego StateTMs assistant coach. In that capacity he will lead the SDSU Baseball strength and conditioning as well as assist with other coaching duties.

Pullen played two years of professional baseball in the Seattle Mariners organization after being drafted in the 37th round of the 2008 Major League draft. He followed that up with one season playing independent league ball.

Pullen was a left-handed pitcher at San Diego State during the 2007 and 2008 seasons where he served primarily as a let-handed situational reliever. During his two seasons he made 39 appearances out of the bullpen and finished with a 1-0 record while striking out almost a better per inning.

Prior to his time at SDSU as a player he competed for two season at Scottsdale (Ariz.) Community College where he compiled a 43 record with a 2.10 ERA as a freshman and was named most valuable pitcher at the conference tournament. During his second year he was selected to play in the annual Sophomore Showcase.

A native of Idaho, Pullen played three seasons of baseball at Idaho Falls High School where he was named to the all-area and all-5A High Country Conference. He earned all-league honors all three years and was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 42nd round of the 2004 MLB draft.

Since concluding his pro playing career, Pullen has worked as a strength and conditioning specialist in the San Diego area as well as interning with various Department of Justice and Homeland Security agencies.

The 29-year-old Pullen received his bachelorTMs degree in criminal justice from San Diego State in 2008. He completed his masterTMs degree in homeland security at SDSU in 2013.
