PRIOR TO COLLEGE: Graduated in 2023 from Saint Mary’s High School in Stockton, California, where he garnered Tri-City Athletic League Offensive Player of the Year accolades as a senior, after slashing .350/.467/.583 with three homers, 10 RBIs and 26 runs scored in 21 games, according to MaxPreps… Helped the Rams capture the TCAL championship and advance to the semifinals of the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division I playoffs… Also earned a spot on the CIF all-section team by MaxPreps… Played his first three prep seasons across town in Stockton at Bear Creek High School, where he hit a combined .360 with five homers, 65 RBIs, 84 runs scored and 38 stolen bases… Struck out just 16 times in 200 plate appearances during that span… Helped the Bruins claim a pair of San Joaquin Athletic Association titles… Led the team with 20 stolen bases as a junior… Also topped the squad with four dingers and 49 runs scored as a sophomore while ranking third with a .482 batting average and a .646 on-base percentage… Earned a No. 21 ranking among outfielders for the 2023 graduating class in California by Perfect Game and was rated No. 123 in the state overall… Was also slotted 153rd for outfielders in the nation by the website… Received preseason all-region honorable mention for California by Perfect Game prior to the 2023 campaign after meriting second-team distinction the previous year… Played five seasons in the outfield for the Alpha Baseball club program… Collected all-tournament honors at multiple events sponsored by Perfect Game, including the 2021 17U West Elite Championship in Stockton, where his Alpha Prime 2023 squad captured the team title… Earned a spot on the Top Prospect list at the 2021 WWBA Workout Showcase in Jupiter, Florida… His same Alpha Prime club team also took home the tournament crown at the 2022 PG 17U World Series in Surprise, Arizona… Chose the Aztecs over UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, Fresno State, Sacramento State and Pacific.
PERSONAL: Born in Stockton, California… Parents are Kevin and Laura Kahler… Hails from an athletic family… His brother, Gabriel, is a redshirt junior on the Azusa Pacific baseball team, while his sister, Mia, played collegiate volleyball from 2018-21 for NAIA Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan… Lists Major League infielder Enrique Hernandez as his favorite athlete… Along with baseball, he enjoys the outdoors and playing golf… Plans to major in business at San Diego State with career aspirations to start a sports training facility.
