2020 SEASON AT VIRGINIA (As A Sophomore): Sat out the year after transferring from the University of Chicago.
 
2019 SEASON AT UNIV. OF CHICAGO (As A Freshman): Started six of seven games during his rookie campaign, posting a 6-0 record with a 1.12 earned run average and 64 strikeouts in 40.0 innings for the Division III Maroons … Ranks among the program’s single-season leaders in ERA (2nd), victories (T7th) and ERA (8th) … Finished second in the nation in strikeouts per nine innings (14.4), fourth in hits allowed per nine innings (4.7) and fifth in ERA … Recorded a season-high 16 strikeouts in seven innings of a 6-1 conquest at Transylvania (3-2-19) … Came out of the bullpen eight days later to earn the victory in a 4-3 triumph over Thomas More, fanning 11 batters in four innings (3-10-19) … Garnered Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week accolades for his performance … Also notched 12 strikeouts in seven innings of a 4-1 win over Schreiner (3-24-19).
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Won four letters at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida … Received Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) all-state recognition to go with first-team all-Broward County honors as a senior … Posted a 5-1 record with a 2.13 earned run average, 1.16 WHIP and 99 strikeouts in 56.0 innings pitched in his final season … Was also was named District 5A-14 Pitcher of the Year and garnered first-team all-district accolades … Led Broward County in strikeouts … National Merit Commended Scholar with a 4.4 GPA … Rose to the rank of Eagle Scout.
 
PERSONAL: Son of Kyle Petri … Has two brothers, William and Ben … His uncle John Offerdahl was a five-time Pro Bowler for the NFL’s Miami Dolphins.
