2025 SEASON AT COLLEGE OF SOUTHERN NEVADA (As a Redshirt Freshman): Started 50 of 53 games, helping the Coyotes capture the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference title and clinch a spot in the Region 1 championship series… Earned first-team all-ACCAC honors and received Gold Glove recognition… Hit .301 with three homers, 36 RBIs and 41 runs scored… Tied for second on the team with 12 doubles and went 4-for-4 in stolen base attempts… Recorded multiple hits in 13 games and knocked in two or more runs on nine occasions… Fashioned two six-game hitting streaks during the season… Went deep with a solo blast in CSN’s 10-8 victory over Yavapai College for his first collegiate round-tripper (2-7-25)… Collected a season-high three hits in a 13-3 romp at Community Christian College in Palm Springs, California, where he posted a pair of run-scoring singles and an RBI double (2-21-25)… Belted a grand slam and drove in two additional runs for a season-best six RBIs in a 14-0 home shutout of Colorado Northwestern CC (2-28-25)… Ripped a two-run double in CSN’s 12-2 victory over Yavapai College, which secured a berth for the Coyotes in the Region I finals (5-3-25).
2024 SEASON AT OREGON STATE (As a Freshman): Did not play.
PRIOR TO COLLEGE: Graduated in 2023 from Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he was a varsity letterwinner for head coaches Gino DiMaria and Chris Sheff… Helped the Gaels compile a 36-2 overall record during his senior campaign, capped by a 10-1 victory over Desert Oasis High in the title game of the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association Class 5A South Region Championship… Went 2-for-3 in that contest with two doubles and a pair of RBIs… Hit .365 with nine doubles, 45 RBIs and 20 runs scored over his final three prep seasons, according to MaxPreps… Slashed .448/.522/.500 as a junior in 2022 to earn all-conference honors… Drove in 16 runs that season, as Bishop Gorman reached the NIAA Class 5A Southern Region finals… Was listed as the No. 1 catcher for the 2023 graduating class in Nevada by Perfect Game, ranking eighth in the state overall… Was also rated as a Top 500 national recruit by the website and was slotted 69th at the catching position in the country… Earned second-team preseason all-West Region honors from Perfect Game prior to the 2023 campaign and after meriting the same distinction as an underclassman in 2021 and 2022… Garnered all-tournament accolades at several events sponsored by Perfect Game, including the 2022 17U World Series in Surprise, Arizona, where he represented the LVR club program… Was a member of an LVR squad that captured the 2022 18U WWBA West Memorial Day Classic at the same site.
PERSONAL: Parents are Lyndy Marnell and Anthony Marnell III… His father played college baseball at Arizona and spent two years in the minor leagues with the Baltimore Orioles and San Diego Padres organizations… His sister, Ariana, is a sophomore on the Auburn equestrian team… Also has one brother, Rex… Enjoys hunting and fishing in his spare time.
