PRIOR TO COLLEGE: Graduated in 2024 from Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, California, where he was a three-year varsity letterwinner… Garnered first-team all-Bay League accolades as a senior and received all-area recognition from the Daily Breeze… Was also named his team’s co-MVP that season after posting a 6-3 record and a 2.00 ERA with 81 strikeouts in 52 innings, helping the Mustangs secure a spot in the CIF Southern Section Division II playoffs… Led his freshman squad to the Bay League title in 2021, compiling a 10-1 record with 85 strikeouts to capture his team's MVP and Pitcher of the Year honors… Earned a No. 24 ranking among left-handed pitchers in California for the 2024 high school signing class by Perfect Game and was rated 289th nationally at his position… Received preseason All-America honorable mention by Perfect Game prior to the 2024 campaign after meriting the same distinction as an underclassman the previous year… Was named Most Valuable Pitcher at the 2022 17U PG Fall Championship in Surprise, Arizona, after leading his GBG Navy 2024 squad to the tournament title… Also earned all-tournament honors at the same event in 2021 and 2022… Additionally competed for the Playa Vista Orioles and the Manhattan Beach Broncos on the club circuit… Chose the Aztecs over the likes of Arizona State, Utah, Fresno State, Grand Canyon, Saint Mary’s, UC Santa Barbara and UC San Diego.

PERSONAL: Born in Torrance, California… Son of Alex and Clara McBean… His father played collegiate lacrosse at Butler University from 1994-98… His younger brother, AJ, is a two-year starter on the Mira Costa High School football team… Enjoys surfing, playing golf and beach volleyball… Plans to major in business at San Diego State with an emphasis in marketing.
