Aztec Athletic Foundation Moves Annual Golf Classic To October

SAN DIEGO - The Aztec Athletic Foundation has moved the date of the second annual Scholarship Golf Classic by one week to Friday, Oct. 26th. The location remains Barona Creek Golf Club in Lakeside, Calif.

The event, sponsored by Barona Casino and the Barona Band of Mission Indians, and presented by Clear Channel Communications, is currently taking reservations for individuals and sponsorships for the limited field event, with priority given to those groups sponsoring the tournament. Sponsorship packages range from $1500-$2500, and include golf for four at the event, plus season tickets, with pregame hospitality, to your choice of Aztec football and/or men's basketball (determined by sponsorship level). Individual reservations are $175/person.

Also included is a limited live auction for the following prizes as part of the awards ceremony:

Trip for two to the 2002 PGA Championships at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minn.

Trip for two to the 2002 Mountain West Conference Basketball Tournament in Las Vegas.

Trip for two to a 2001-2002 Aztec men's basketball road contest, site to be determined.

Trip for two with the 2002 Aztec football squad at the University of Colorado in Boulder.
