Inaugural AAF Scholarship Golf Classic Slated For Nov. 10 Sept. 20, 2000 Pat Kreger, Interim Director of the Aztec Athletic Foundation, announcedtoday the Inaugural AAF Scholarship Golf Classic, sponsored by BaronaCasino and the Barona Band of Mission Indians, will be held on Friday,Nov. 10th at Cottonwood at Rancho San Diego Golf Club. "We are pleased our friends at Cottonwood at Rancho San Diego haveteamed up with us to host this great event," said Kreger. "Rick Sprouseand Tina Alessio have been very supportive of our golf programs, andthis is an extension of Cottonwood's committment to Aztec Athletics." "We are thrilled to be able to host this great event, for a greatpurpose, at our facility," said Tina Alessio, Tournaments and MarketingCoordinator at Cottonwood at Rancho San Diego. "It's a real honor to beable to be part of this quality event, and continue our long-standingrelationship with San Diego State Athletics." The event was previously scheduled to take place at the brand new BaronaCreek Golf Club. Construction delays have pushed back the courseopening, thus spurning the move to Cottonwood at Rancho San Diego.However, Barona Casino and the Barona Band of Mission Indians aresolidly behind the event as title sponsor. "To be title sponsor with theproceeds going to student-athlete scholarships at San Diego State isvery important to us.
