SAN DIEGO – The Aztec women’s golf team is playing in the MountainView Collegiate Friday-Sunday at the Preserve Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz.

The 16-team field will feature six teams ranked in the top 50: No. 25 Iowa State, No. 32 Houston, No. 33 Kansas State, No. 34 Missouri, No. 36 Kansas. Also competing is Cincinnati, Colorado State, Iowa, Long Beach State, Marshall, Nebraska, North Texas, Texas Tech, UTSA, Wichita State and Wisconsin.

The Aztecs are coming off their best team performance of the season after finishing fifth in the competitive Yale Invitational West. SDSU placed three golfers in the top 11 and rose 12 spots in the national rankings since then.

SDSU’s lineup for the tournament will be Ema Narita, Manon Martin, Kylie Phi, Emma Delwes and Emilia Omander.

Narita (Tokyo, Japan) tied for second at the Yale Invitational West with a career-low six-under-par 210, which earned her Mountain West Golfer of the Week honors. She leads the Aztecs in all stat categories and is an impressive 285-55-10 in the spring and averaging 72.8 strokes per 18.

Manon Martin (Courbevoie, France) also had a career-low score at SDSU’s last tournament, finishing with a one-under-par 215 that featured an opening round five-under-par 67. She has posted career-low 54-hole scores in three straight tournaments and has back-to-back 10th place finishes.

Phi (Fountain Valley, Calif.) has a 366-140-21 record, a 73.23 stroke average and four top-11 finishes on the year.

Delwes (Verden, Germany) has appeared in all but one tournament this year but is making her first start of the spring season.

Omander (Cologne, Germany) has started all four competitions this spring and shot an eight-over-par 224 at the Causeway Invitational, which tied her career-low 54-hole score.

The tournament is co-hosted by Kansas State and Missouri and is played at the Preserve Golf Club, which plays as a par 72 and is 6,395 yards.

Teams will tee off between 7:30 and 9:40 a.m. on holes No. 1 and 10 on Friday and Saturday and then start with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start for the final round Sunday.

The forecast calls for sunny skies and temperatures reaching 100 degrees.
