SAN DIEGO – Finn Willman and Brock Anderson completed day one of the San Diego Veterans Tennis Classic at the University of San Diego’s Hogan Tennis Center on Friday, capturing their first doubles victory of the season.
The duo kicked off the morning with a matchup against Grand Canyon’s Daniel Jankoski and Nikos Lehmann. The Aztecs cruised to a dominant 6-2 win over the Lopes in their first ever match as a doubles duo.
Anderson and Willman then went on to compete against Grand Canyon players in singles competition. In his first match of the 2026-27 campaign, Willman battled Jankoski to three sets, but came up short in a 7-6, 3-6, 6-3 decision. Anderson was also tripped up in singles play, falling 6-2, 7-5 to Victor Lima.
The Aztecs will be back in action on Saturday as they take on players from Cal, with doubles beginning at 2:30 p.m., followed by singles at 3:30.
