SAN DIEGO – Vessa Turley and Tea Lukic are on to the doubles semifinals at the ITA Southwest Regional Championships after capturing two victories on Saturday. The duo is one of four teams left standing, fighting for a ticket to next month’s NCAA Doubles Championships.

After a first-round bye and a round of 32 win on Friday, the duo advanced to the round of 16 after Arizona State’s Zlata Bartanusz and Nanami Goto forfeited the match due to injury.

In the quarterfinals, the Aztecs faced Cal State Fullerton’s Martina Markov and Emilie Lugon, taking down the Titans 8-6 to move on in the main draw.

In singles competition, Azuna Ichioka appeared in the round of 16, but fell 6-3, 6-1 to San Duegio’s Emily Deming.

Turley and Lukic will take the court at 9 a.m. in a semifinal matchup against Jessica Bernales and Olivia Center out of UCLA.
