SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State women’s golf team will play in the University of Hawai’i’s Rainbow Wahine Invitational Monday-Wednesday.

The 14-field features Hawai‘i, Appalachian State, BYU, Eastern Michigan, Grand Canyon, Kansas State, Long Beach State, Nevada, Osaka Gakuin (Japan), Prairie View A&M, Sacramento State, San Diego State, Tulane and Washington State.

The Aztecs’ starting lineup will be Kylie Warner, Amelia Garibaldi, Ema Narita, Fia Lindblom and Emma Delwes. This group won the Golf Iconic Classic earlier this week, finishing with a 13-under-par 851, the second-best 54-hole score in program history. In that tournament, the Aztecs had nine fewer bogeys than any other team. They also had the most birdies (48).

Warner (Palmdale, Calif.) is coming off her first tournament win as an Aztec. She shot a career-best seven-under-par 209 to beat her previous career best by 11 strokes. She finished the tournament with the best average score on par fours (3.83).

Garibaldi (Lodi, Calif.) is off to a great start to her Aztec career, earning top-five finishes in each of SDSU’s first three tournaments. Across nine rounds, she is 10-under-par.

Narita (Tokyo, Japan) made the All-Mountain West First Team last season and posted a 72.79 stroke average, the fourth lowest 18-hole average in program history. She has started in all 37 tournaments since arriving on The Mesa and is coming off her best showing of the season, finishing with an even par 216 and T-11th finish last week.

Lindblom (Gothenburg, Sweden) had a 73.9 adjusted average and went 332-238-21 at Texas State last year and finished in the top-10 twice. In SDSU’s last tournament, she tied for 13th with a one-over-par 217.

Delwes (Verden, Germany) has posted her two best 54-hole scores in each of SDSU’s last two tournaments (218 and 219).

The tournament will be played on the island of Kaua’i at the Ocean Course at Hokuala; It is a par 72 and plays 6,039 yards.

The Aztecs played in this tournament last year and placed eighth out of 19 teams and were led by Ema Narita, who tied for sixth with a four-under-par 212.

The forecast calls for temperatures in the mid-70s with a chance of rain every day.

Teams will tee off with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. PT on Monday and Tuesday and at noon PT Wednesday.
