SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State softball program unveiled its 2027 non-conference schedule on Tuesday, featuring 17 home games and three tournaments held at SDSU Softball Stadium.

The Aztecs will face ten teams that made the 2026 NCAA Tournament, including reigning national champion Texas twice, and Mississippi State, who was in the Women’s College World Series. In addition, the Scarlet and Black will take on five teams that earned at least a share of their regular season conference title and six teams who did so in their conference tournament.

For the first time in the Stacey Nuveman Deniz era, San Diego State will open the season on the road. The Aztecs, who last began the season away in 2021 with a doubleheader at San Diego, will head to Honolulu for a tournament hosted by Hawai’i. SDSU begins play on Friday, February 12, against the Oregon Ducks, an NCAA tournament team last season. San Diego State will play twice each on Saturday and Sunday, taking on California and host Hawai’i on Saturday before rounding out the weekend against Utah Valley and national champions Texas.

The next weekend, SDSU will play its first home games of the season in the 35th Campbell/Cartier Classic. Kentucky, Loyola Marymount, Portland State and Texas will travel to The Mesa for the event. San Diego State will play the Vikings and Longhorns on Friday. The Aztecs will follow up on Saturday with contests against Kentucky and Loyola Marymount before facing the Lions once again on Sunday afternoon.

Next up, San Diego State will make its annual pilgrimage to Cathedral City, California, for the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic. The Aztecs open on Thursday night against Bethune-Cookman, who the Aztecs beat 9-0 in the same tournament in 2024. SDSU follows that up with a doubleheader on Friday against Rutgers and Saint Mary’s. The Aztecs and Gaels are facing off in the Mary Nutter for the third consecutive season. SMC won both the regular season and conference titles in the West Coast Conference last season to earn a bid to the NCAA Tournament. SDSU wraps up the weekend with two more contests on Saturday, against Mississippi State and Cal State Fullerton. Both teams made the NCAA Tournament in 2026, with the Bulldogs advancing to the WCWS and the Titans winning the Big West regular season and tournament championships.

Back in San Diego, the Aztecs will co-host tournaments with the University of San Diego the next two weekends. The weekend of March 4-7 will see Brigham Young, Long Island, Long Beach State and UC Riverside in town for the San Diego Classic I. SDSU will play night games against the Cougars on Thursday and the Beach on Friday. Long Beach State is coached by former SDSU assistant Kendall Fearn. San Diego State will play twice on Saturday, taking on the Sharks and the Highlanders. Long Island won the NEC regular season crown last season.

The San Diego Classic is back for a second weekend. This one will feature Columbia, Eastern Kentucky, Grand Canyon, Holy Cross, Nevada and North Dakota State. The Aztecs will play North Dakota State on Friday and Holy Cross on Saturday. SDSU will play twice on Sunday, facing Nevada and Grand Canyon. The Lopes were an NCAA Tournament team in 2026 and suffered their worst loss of the season at the hands of the Aztecs by a 9-1 score in five innings on April 19.

The following Tuesday, March 16, San Diego State will host the UNLV Rebels, a team SDSU defeated 13-7 in their last meeting on March 22, 2026.

That weekend, the Scarlet and Black will head up to the Bay Area to play a three-game series at Stanford. The Cardinal, who qualified for last season’s NCAA Tournament, will host SDSU for two games on March 20 and one more the following day.

San Diego State will play four more midweek games the remainder of the season. SDSU will host USD on Tuesday, March 23. On Tuesday, April 6, the Aztecs will head up to Riverside to take on California Baptist, who made the NCAA Tournament last season as the regular season and tournament champions of the WAC. SDSU has a pair of Wednesday home games against former Pac-12 teams, facing California on April 14 and Arizona State on April 28. The Sun Devils won the Big 12 Tournament title last season and made the NCAA Tournament, advancing to the Austin Super Regional before falling to the eventual champion Texas.

The Aztecs’ Pac-12 schedule was announced last week and features home series against Oregon State, Utah State and Fresno State as well as road series at Boise State, Colorado State and Texas State. The Bobcats will host the Pac-12 Tournament from May 12-15.
