SAN DIEGO – Jaxson Hutcheon of the San Diego State men’s soccer team was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon. Hutcheon scored two goals last week, including the game-winner vs. Gonzaga to help SDSU go 1-0-1 on the week.
Hutcheon, a sophomore forward who transferred from LMU prior to the season, has recorded a point in all three of SDSU’s Pac-12 matches. He scored in the third minute in SDSU’s 1-1 draw vs. Cal Poly and then scored in the 13th minute in the Aztecs’ 1-0 shutout win vs. Gonzaga on Saturday.
Hutcheon is the second Aztec to win Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week, joining Nik Orth who won on Sept. 9.
The Aztecs are tied for third in the Pac-12 with five points and a 1-0-2 record. They will take a break from conference play on Wednesday when they play at UC Irvine at 6 p.m.
