Aztecs in First Place Entering Final Round at NMSU's Golf Iconic Classic

Four Aztecs are in the top 10 entering the final round and Kylie Warner holds a three-stroke lead after shooting a career-low six-under-par 66 Tuesday.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The San Diego State women’s golf team is in first place after two rounds at New Mexico State’s Golf Iconic Classic. Four Aztecs were under par in the second round as SDSU shot an 11-under-par 277, the second best 18-hole team score in program history.

Four Aztecs are in the top 10 entering the final round and Kylie Warner holds a three-stroke lead after shooting a career-low six-under-par 66 Tuesday.

Warner had seven birdies and just one bogey on the day after shooting a one-under-par 71 Monday. All seven of her birdies were on par fours and her 66 is the best round by an Aztec since 2021 (Sara Kjellker).

Amelia Garibaldi carded a two-under-par 70 on Tuesday with three birdies, one bogey and 14 pars. Her 30 pars across the first two days is the most in the field. With a three-under-par 141, Garibaldi is tied for fourth.

Emma Delwes is tied for eighth with a one-under-par 143. She shot a one-under-par 71 Tuesday and had four birdies, all of which came in a five-hole stretch (6-10).

Fia Lindbloom shot an even par 72 for the second straight day. She had five birdies, all on the back nine, but also had three bogeys and one double bogey. She is tied for 13th after 36 holes.

Ema Narita had a two-under-par 70 on Tuesday with four birdies to offset a pair of bogeys. She is tied for 26th with a two-over-par 146.

The Aztecs hold an eight-stroke lead over UTSA and Nebraska entering the final day.
