CORVALLIS, Ore. – The San Diego State men’s soccer team (2-5-4, 0-0-1) earned a 2-2 draw at No. 21 Oregon State (4-1-4, 0-0-1) in their Pac-12 opener Wednesday evening. This was SDSU’s first result on the road against a ranked team since the 2022 season.
"I've never been more proud of a team to earn a point on the road," Head coach Ryan Hopkins said after the match. "We dug in, executed tactics and were relentless. We also scored some great goals against a ranked opponent. We are growing everyday and excited to see where the group continues to move."
The Aztecs took the lead almost immediately after the opening kickoff with Adam Okorodudu scoring 51 seconds into the match after stealing the ball from the OSU goalkeeper and then dribbling past him to score.
Oregon State tied the match up just a few minutes later when Wyatt Borso cleaned up a deflection off save from a John Koutelieris shot.
The Beavers took the lead in the 21st minute when Tim Hoffman finished an assist from Henry Blank and Michael Nesci.
SDSU trailed 2-1 at the half despite outshooting the Beavers 6-5 in the first 45 minutes. The Aztecs scored the equalizer in the 57th minute on a Max Mair goal with Jaxson Hutcheon and Yahir Ocampo-Navarro providing the assist.

This is the first time this season SDSU has earned a result when trailing at halftime.
THE NOTE
The Aztecs have earned a draw in three of their last four matches at Oregon State.
