SAN DIEGO – Nik Orth of the San Diego State men’s soccer team was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday afternoon. Orth had a hand in both of SDSU’s goals in their 2-2 draw vs. Cal State Bakersfield last Saturday, providing an assist and scoring a goal.
Orth, a sophomore from Cologne, Germany, helped the Aztecs get on the board early with a nice lead pass to Jaxson Hutcheon, which led to a SDSU goal in the third minute.
In the 89th minute, with SDSU trailing 2-1, Orth converted a penalty kick to help the Aztecs secure the draw. This was Orth’s fourth goal of the season, all of which have come in the last three matches.
This is Orth’s first Player of the Week award and SDSU’s first since rejoining the Pac-12 after a two-year hiatus. Orth’s four goals and nine points leads the Pac-12
